VANCOUVER, British Columbia Randy Quaid said if it weren't for Canada's refugee system, he and his wife would be dead.
The actor made the comment Tuesday as he entered his immigration and refugee board hearing in Vancouver, where he and his wife Evi were picked up last month on an outstanding warrant in the United States.
The pair quickly claimed refugee status and their hearings have been conducted amid their bizarre claims of being hunted by what they call "Hollywood star whackers."
They say many of their friends have died under mysterious circumstances and believe they could be next on the hit list. Quaid is hoping to convince Canada's Immigration and Refugee board that he and his wife are targeted by Hollywood killers and thereby accomplish what no other American has ever done in Canada: Gain refugee status.

The same way that Charlie Sheen is not acting on “Two and a Half Men”
Quaid is so funny. Totally randomly I channel surfed to the 1996 movie “Bye Bye Love”. A hilarious B movie that he was great in
“Last Detail” was first movie I saw him in
“They say many of their friends have died under mysterious circumstances”
Friends of the Clintons? Who knew?

National Lampoon’s Canadian Vacation
Shitter’s full.
if you think anti-Americanism is bad there now, just wait until Team USA starts kicking their hockey butts in the Olympics soon.
(it’s gonna happen...all of the great Canadian players end up on US based NHL teams where they have kids born who are US Citizens. And we have 10x the population, much of which is now figuring out how to play hockey. Five guys in last year’s NHL draft were from California!)
I agree 100%. Grew up watching Ray Bourque of the Bruins play lights out every night and found out that his kid chose the US Jrs Team that won last New Years Eve in Sask. 3 of Team USA’s hockey players were sons of former canadian players, one even from 72 Summit game: Parise.
Another point: this year’s Hobey Player of the Year (best collegiate hockey player) is Blake Geoffrion.
No one in America knows the last name. The Geoffrion name hockey-terms in Montreal is synonymous to Jesus Christ. BOTH grandfather and great-grandfather are in the Hockey Hall of Fame. I wish he gets drafted by the Kings.
The future looks bright for Team USA.
I have been told that the number of Canadians who volunteered to serve in the Vietnam War far exceeded the number of draft dodgers sheltered by Canada.
Mike
Now that I’ve seen the list, it’s almost a given he’ll get his asylum. He’ll be placed in the nearest nut-house.
BTW, my first reaction was to automatically hope he was sent back to the U.S. On second thought, give him the asylum. PLEASE!
“Is there really a group of Hollywood Star Whackers???
Sounds like Pee Wee Herman’s group.
Probably hiring Dog the Bounty Hunter to pay the Quaids a visit and “persuade” them to return to the US
Not likely to happen. Bounty hunting is illegal in Canada.
There was a case about 25 yrs. ago where a Florida Real Estate Developer was indicted on fraud charges and skipped his bail. He went to Toronto. His bail bondsman hired two bounty hunters who grabbed the guy in Toronto, threw him in the trunk of a car, drove him over the Peace Bridge and then flew him back to Florida for trial.
The Canadian government responded by extraditing the two bounty hunters on kidnapping charges. It was a huge mess. In the end I think everyone pretty much went free and we made an agreement with Canada not to send bounty hunters into their country.
