I know the on-again off-again nature of SteynOnline in recent months has sorely tried readers’ patience. Rather boringly, I have some health issues that demand somewhat more attention than I’ve been able to give them. So rather than keep driving you nuts by showing signs of life on the home page for a day or two and then lapsing back into sleep mode for a week, we’re going to close up shop for a while.

What I loved about the Incumbistan comment is that he tossed it out so matter-of-factly that I’m sure many people didn’t catch it or didn’t understand it. His humor is like Robin Williams back in his stand-up days when your mind had to catch up with the jokes because they were flying out so fast.
He doesn’t punch his jokes like most comics do. He tosses it out and expects you to digest them without the pregnant pauses.
His writing, similarly, tosses a joke while also leading us to a valid point. He is gifted both in his commentary and his wordplay that makes you laugh along the way. He’s a great treasure and I hope his health returns to normal in quick fashion.
I hope Steyn is ok. He’s a favorite.
I just got back from the National Review cruise. A lot of that going around there, too.
Mark is a favorite of mine too - the BEST writer ever - wickedly funny. Now I have to worry about him in addition to my other great love - Mark Levin, with that cough of his...we can’t afford to lose either of these brilliant guys - they are truly national treasures!!!
A couple of observations; In passing, on Rush’s show last week he mentioned that he fell off a cliff on holiday. That could have been a joke however.
When he appeared with Sean Hannity last week his right arm was in what looked like a large cast.
