INDEED.
GOD ALONE IS OUR REFUGE!
HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE.
Is certainly the case now.
Illusions die hard.
Many are all set to crash with a thunderous thud.
She needs to be given her walking papers.
I’m so sorry. What happened to your wife is so wrong. It’s an outrage that this could happen in our country.
Here’s my security (In Christ alone, I place my trust...):
Isaiah 35:3-4
3 “Strengthen the weak hands,
And make firm the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted,
Be strong, do not fear!
Behold, your God will come with vengeance,
With the recompense of God;
He will come and save you.”
Thanks. She is still working her way through it and it really upset her. America is not the same anymore. She grew up in small-town Yazoo City and is not used to nasty people frisking her. This is a different country now.
I can only imagine how upsetting it was. We’ve lost so much in such a short time. It’s simply stunning.
You’re right, of course.
He was talking about in this world from this world.
The *security* offered by the government IS an illusion. They can’t keep us safe. They just want to make us think they can so we’ll submit to them out of fear. Hence, they devise a color coded terror thread scale, ramp it up, and then offer us a *solution* to *protect* us.
I agree that we've lost so much (and that it is indeed stunning), however it all started long ago. Our Rights, Freedom, and Liberty have been under assault for many decades (some would argue for well over 100 years). Slowly but steadily our Constitution has been shredded bit by bit, most often in the names of "fairness," "protection," and "security." What we have experienced since the election of 2008 has been a very focused ramp-up/speed-up of a lot of the wheels and levers that have been set in motion long ago.
For many reasons they thought that the results of that election were a signal that the American people have been dumbed down and softened up sufficiently (after decades of their efforts) so that they could safely turn up the heat. It is my hope and fervent prayer that they have miscalculated gravely. If not for this extreme level of overreach and tyranny that we have been watching play out on a daily basis over the past few years, far more of us would still be asleep and ignorant. There has been an awakening of a significant (though still relatively small) portion of the population; I am firmly convinced that the fate of our Republic rests solely in our collective hands--we must all continue to rouse and shake awake all that we encounter.
This terrible story of what happened to FE's wife (and the disabled vet that I saw on TV this morning glumly acknowledging that he always has to go through "enhanced screening" since his artificial legs trigger the alarm on the normal machines) are merely a couple of examples of the countless events that are occurring on a daily basis (in virtually all aspects of our lives). The more they do, they more evidence of their evil is exposed. We need to make sure that their grave miscalculation will have consequences.
(I'm sorry for rambling on and on here, I haven't been able to post much lately and have a lot of emotion built up!)
Hear, hear! Excellent post.
Sure they do. They are implementing it here. They are trying to create the homegrown right winged terrorists they have been braying about by turning up the pressure on Americans.
You are spot on!
So, sooooooo sorry for what your wife had to endure. Terrible. How do these people sleep at night knowing how they are terrorizing innocent victims?
The problem is, the terrorist will do the thing we haven’t thought of.. There’s simply no way to know what’s going to happen next unless you can get into the heads of the terrorists.
I don’t recall that anyone expected the inkjet cartridges bombs.
It doesn’t help any when we announce to the whole world what we’re doing in the way of security to make us *safer*.
We have idiots for leaders.
They can't stop you from walking. Beyond that, you're in the America you (presumably) voted for, somewhere down the line.
The America I knew died a long time ago.
Where were you?
PING!
I love that video!
These sexual assaults are against the Word of God...
No Jew or Christian should allow it...
The Bible tells us to be modest, virtuous, flee the very appearance of evil, etc
and yet are we going to disobey God and give in to evil ???
And about that “safe” thingy...
We are suppose to trust in God not man and machine...
Our safety is to be found in God...
We should be concerned that our Christian leaders have not denounced the sin of the “enhanced pat downs”
If safety is to be found in coruption and indecency, then God has no power to save...
PING to Mrs Don-o
Nana, it's appalling. Hopefully, in the days ahead someone will come forward and speak out about this. Have men been so neutered by this culture that they are desensitized to protecting women and children? Has modesty been so brutalized in this porn culture that a man would allow his wife or daughter to be adulterated with these methods of screening? Christ commanded that a man love and care for his wife as Christ Himself did for the church and I'm not hearing a peep from any Christian leaders denouncing this publicly and encouraging Believers to obey God rather than man in regards to this.
If you're raising or have raised a young woman to be modest in her dress and actions and to follow the example of Christ and conduct herself in a Godly manner, there is no way on this earth you would allow her to have her naked body exposed to strangers or physically molested by the State. It goes against the core Biblical beliefs of any true follower of Jesus Christ.
More significantly, it would have been widely recognized in 1789. The Ninth Amendment does not grant courts the authority to arbitrarily invent "rights" (even though they use it for such purposes). Rather, it states that the Bill of Rights is not to be regarded as an exhaustive list; the set of rights enjoyed by people in a free society is sufficiently large that even a list ten times as long as the whole Constitution, couldn't come close to including them all. I'm not sure exactly what Kelo's attorneys argued, but to my mind the defining point should have been "The right of a free person not to have property taken by the government for purpose of enriching someone else, except as punishment for a crime or a tort against that person, would have been considered so obviously self-evident in 1789 that there was no need to explicitly list it, especially since the Ninth Amendment does state explicitly that the Bill of Rights is not to be regarded as an exhaustive list."
