Next step for body scanners could be trains, boats, metro

Napolitano said she hoped the U.S. could get to a place in the future where Americans would not have to be as guarded against terrorist attacks as they are and that she was actively promoting research into the psychology of how a terrorist becomes radicalized.

“The long-term [question] is, how do we get out of this having to have an ever-increasing security apparatus because of terrorists and a terrorist attack?” she said. “I think having a better understanding of what causes someone to become a terrorist will be helpful."

DHS and intelligence officials are not as far along in understanding that process as they would like, Napolitano said, adding that until that goal is reached, steps need to be put in place to ensure the public’s safety.

“We don’t know much,” she said. “If you were to try and devise a template about what connects this terrorist to this terrorist and how they were raised and what schools they went to and their socioeconomic status, or this or that, it’s all over the map.

Why not just build these into the front doors of houses
and apartments, sure would save time and lives.

Actually, she thinks that the common denominator is patriotic, law-abiding Americans. Remember the report she put out shortly after taking office. She is suspect of people who value their 2nd Amendment rights and also our veterans. She is one scary freak.

We have nothing to fear but fear itself! ~~FDR

Shutdown all this Marxist unconstitutional war against our individual Liberty and freedoms and target the terrorists directly. Bomb the bastards out of existence. Until then, Little Janet Napoliana and her NAZI brownshirt thugs can go straight to hell!!

I flew to ABQ early Friday and my wife was groped in full public view, including pulling her pants open for a visual examination, by the TSA at Hobby Airport. Mrs FE just had breast cancer reconstruction 6 weeks ago. She was sobbing afterward. We will not be flying again. If I cannot drive my Suburban there, we are not going.

This unauthorized and mentally damaging searching of our persons without just cause is a blatant violation of the 4th Amendment. It seems as though we live in East Germany and are subject to the whims of the Stasi, rather than being free in America.

I guess you could get a badge or something to show/wear letting the TSA know you’ve been groped and poked and you can continue walking on your way ....

My wife and I won’t be flying. We used to go to DC once or twice a year. No more unless we can go by car.

The TSA should have never been created.

The exact translation of Stasi - “Die Staatssicherheitsdienst” - is “The department of homeland security.”

Funny how no one listened, when that was pointed out.

she was actively promoting research into the psychology of how a terrorist becomes radicalized.

Gosh, now there's the difference between me and the sexually ambiguous policy nerds who get chauffered around instead of going through security checks, that probably shows why I'm not qualified to do Janet's job.

I don't care about the psychology of how a terrorist becomes radicalized. I'm only curious about the physiology of how a terrorist becomes dead. It just sounds like a simpler problem to me. If you solve that one, and word gets around, the first one kind of takes care of itself.

How dare you mention the Religion of Peace! It’s just a coincidence that ALL of these terror attacks or attempted attacks have involved Muslim men. Better that we all be strip searched before getting on the subway than anyone be profiled! After all, just think how immensely practical it would be to implement this sort of screening at a million locations across the U.S. And don’t blame the Obama team when the economy declines “unexpectedly” because people stop flying, using the trains, going to work. These people are the best and brightest! /s

I’ve never before been so afraid of the future as I have with these Marxists/idiots/ivory tower academics/proven failures, etc. in positions of power. The 2012 election can’t come soon enough. I just hope it isn’t too late.

“I think having a better understanding of what causes someone to become a terrorist will be helpful."

Why will this help, Janet Napolidumbsh*t?

You won't profile them anyway, so why will this knowledge help?

I am wondering when there will be check points on our highways?

Instead of closing the loopholes (like those overlooked on the underwear bomber no fly list, etc), or profiling in an intelligent manner like the Israeli’s or defending/protecting our borders (where evidence exists that terrorists can enter easily via Mexico)we are being turned into a Police State.

We need to keep pointing out how Dangerous the radiation you get from these machines is. They are not safe.

The expert the other day said that it was like putting a blow torch on your tummy and claiming it was safe since it only raised your core body temperature .05 degrees. (Of course your skin was destroyed)

Why stop at trains, boats and subways?

Put up checkpoints to stop all cars and inspect drivers and passengers and put scanners and inspectors at all mall, restaurant, and motel entrances. Put the same in all schools (I know, I know, they already are doing that in some of them).

It's just to protect us against terrorists and make us all safe, doncha know? It's just for our own good... /s/
