So many viewers voted after Monday's "Dancing With the Stars" finale that they temporarily overwhelmed the show's voting system.

ABC says "a record amount of activity" overloaded its online and telephone voting systems Monday night, and that "some viewers reported experiencing difficulties registering their votes" for the show's finale.

Dont worry. I’ll bet some SEIU repair guys, possibly from Nevada, were called in to fix the vote tabulation problems.

I normally don't agree with frantzie on much ... but in this case I'll make and exception .. and ping him to boot.

IMHO - A lot of people need to focus their energies on something with a bit more importance than this drivel ... I'd rather watch paint dry.

Just sayin'

No flames from me. I agree with you. But the threads are kind of fun to follow. I’ve never seen the show but everyone here is fired up about it. LOL.

***** “ Palin is stuck in Dancing 101. I do give her credit for “going for it”...but she should have been gone a long time ago. This contest is supposed to be about talent, too.” *****

It is no more about talent than Homecoming Queen ... it’s a popularity contest.

TT

It *is* a popularity contest. It always has been. Most of the past winners have had a big fan base. Brandy didn’t have a big enough fan base to support her. Jennifer Gray doesn’t have the fan base that Kyle and Bristol (through mom fame) have. And don’t forget - Vote for the Worst has a big following and all of those people have been voting for Bristol.

On the contrary, the show is 50% judges scores and 50% public votes. It is called “Dancing with the Stars” not “Who is the best Dancing Star”. The most talented Star sometimes does NOT win, and that just how the ball counces.

I voted 5 times each from 3 different phone lines. I got through about once for every 10 calls.

This show is a very nice diversion from the politics of the marxist we have to suffer through each day.

So, yeah, it may be drivel, but its fun too! We need fun once again in our lives. It has been stolen from us by the zero and his minions tyranny in our country.

“She’s about as pro as John Travolta.

Just because they played a dance part, does not make them a pro.

What Jennifer has is maturity and Professionalism...She’s older, has a stage presense, and an exceptional partner...

Palin is stuck in Dancing 101. I do give her credit for “going for it”...but she should have been gone a long time ago. This contest is supposed to be about talent, too.”

Fine then have a competition for the Pros!

it's supposed to be a competition for the "stars," yet it isn't... this show should have John Travolta, Richard Gere and Kathy Zeta Jones competing on it... that would be dancing with the stars... in my opinion...

It *is* a popularity contest. It always has been. Most of the past winners have had a big fan base.

See Donny Osmond. He has a huge fan base all over the world. Fans set up tons of new email addresses and voted him the winner. But with Donny, the judges basically let the fans decide. With Bristol, I am not so sure. Their scores count 50%, so they could score her low enough where it is impossible for her to win. Bristol and her family should be proud she has done so well. She came from knowing nothing about dance and having no stage presence.

Overwhelmed? Maybe! Cheating against Palin? More probably!
