Mogadishu, 23 Nov (AKI) - Islamist militiamen on Tuesday in central Somalia publicly flogged two teenagers who tried to elope together, Radio Shabelle reported. Tribal elders sentenced the teenagers to 12 lashes each. The pair, whose ages were not stated, had tried to marry secretly without their parents' consent, Radio Shabelle said.
The youngsters were flogged on their backs in the central square in the village of Jalalaqsi in Hiran province, according to Radio Shabelle.
In October, Islamist militants shot dead two adolescents accused of spying for the transitional government in Mogadishu, the radio station said.
The Al-Qaeda affiliated Islamist Al-Shabab controls much of southern Somalia. Al-Shabab appears to have consolidated its position as the most powerful insurgent group by driving its main rival, Hizbul Islam, out of the southern port city of Kismayo in October 2009.
Since then they have openly declared their alliance with Al-Qaeda and have been steadily moving their forces northwards towards Mogadishu, the Somali capital.
Somalia has been without an effective central government since 1991.
It is long past time to turn the Islamic paradise of Somalia into a collection of smoldering, radioactive craters.

No, they are allied with al Queda and committed to our destruction. That includes you, unless, of course, you are the proper type of Mohammedan. Even then, they are happy to allow other Mohammedans to die as long as they can kill infidels in the process.
They have attacked American forces, dragging the burnt and disfigured bodies through the streets and celebrating.
If they had nuclear weapons, they would use them on us in a heartbeat. All they would need is a few functional devices mounted on primitive SCUD-type missiles and launched from barges or freighters from about 30 miles offshore. It is not a matter of whether the Mohammedans will do this, but when.

Nope, these unfortunate but necessary actions were taken to force the surrender of the Japanese. Our goal was never to kill all the Japanese, the equivalent of what you're promoting. Although it was well within our capabilities to do so by the end of the war, I'm not aware of anybody seriously proposing it.

Nuking hotbeds of al Queda activism is probably more militarily significant than nuking a small, almost insignificant, mostly residential but slightly industrial city with a large Catholic population, like Nagasaki.
The most effective nuclear strike would be Mecca, as Mohammed promised that it would never be destroyed.
