In the weeks, days and hours leading up to the season 11 finale, the big debate among Dancing with the Stars fans was how did Bristol Palin outlast contestants like Brandy and Audrina Patridge, whose ballroom skills were superior? But in the minutes that followed Monday night's performance show, it was clear inside the ballroom that Palin was just as deserving as Jennifer Grey and Kyle Massey of a shot at the mirror ball trophy.
So who will win? It's anybody's guess, judge Carrie Ann Inaba told PEOPLE backstage after the broadcast.
"If ever there was a season that's hard to predict I think it's this one," Inaba said, acknowledging that it isn't the first one in which fan votes are influencing who advances in the competition. "I wish the judges' scores carried more weight. But America always gets it right."

I give her kudos for having the guts to put herself out there. She certainly puts effort into learning as she does quite well with technique. She just needs to learn to let go and have fun with it. She’s too reserved emotionally to be a good dancer.
That count hasn’t moved since 10:00PM Central last night.
It’s way off.
I had to try and sign up last night. After the website ‘processed my request’ for 45 minutes I gave up. I noticed this moring now that it signed me up twice, so I went and voted 10 times. I’ve never watched the show, but I love to see the liberal talking heads explode.
Sure....your wife was watching it.....I have this vision of Seinfeld hooked up to a lie detector trying to say he didn't watch "Melrose Place."
The only way I would watch it is if North Korea attacked Dancing with the Stars.
Jennifer Grey is a professional and the best dancer of the three.
Bristol got this far on effort and popularity.
Kyle will win because it’s the politically correct thing.
You can keep registering and voting 5 times for each email address. Even my dog got a vote in this twice (10 votes), so she too could make a liberal head spin.
The judges scores and caller votes do nothing to determine the winner. The producers of the show sit down every week and decide who is staying and who is going. It is about entertainment and having the right mix of contestants to get the highest viewership.
They have done it masterfully this season and will insure that the right person wins to be able to go into next season with even a bigger audience.
If the show were ‘completely’ fair, and the contestants were all equally matched...
NO ONE WOULD WATCH THE SHOW.
But, if they did, who would be watching the show? If Bristol Palin had been eliminated early, you wouldn't be the only one not watching DWTS.
As they say in HOLLYWOOD, the only BAD PUBLICITY, is NO PUBLICITY.
They had Brandi and there are plenty of second and third tier celebs and sports figures to choose from. A professional dancer is a ringer...................
Hmmm... I disagree.
I think she is being rewarded(not being eliminated) because keeping her on has drawn a record audience, and record amount of phone-in votes.
DWTS is not about DANCING, not about STARS, it's about selling laundry detergent.
The more of an 'audience' the more money the shows producers make. Everything is engineered along those lines, including WHO the producers(via the judges) pick to stay on the show.
I do not think so.
If anything, ABC is adding more phone lines and staff to handle the incoming traffic. This handling of the call in VOTE is very carefully monitored and controlled. ABSOLUTELY no CHEATING is allowed. The figures MUST BE ACCURATE.
Because every VOTE is money in their pocket. The the key to getting more people to watch the show and call in votes is to evaluate which contestants produce the most viewers/votes (especially is there is some 'controvery' involved).
Simply picking the best performers is boring, and loses audience attention rather quickly.
In my opinion, you are spot on. That is exactly what is happening.
Best comment of this thread.
I thought I read that Brandi had pro experience.
Brandi against Jennifer .... wouldn’t that just be two pros against each other?
Bristol is still on the show, because it is drawing more viewers/voters..... MORE MONEY for the PRODUCERS.
The next round of DWTS will just feature someone else to provide the controversy, and thus the audience.
For all who are drawn into this particular bout of fencing, MILK IT FOR ALL IT’S WORTH.
THEY set up the rules, THEY created the GAME, THEY picked the candidates. That we can use it towards our own ends must irritate the heck out of the liberals.
There was a thread here the other day that said DWTS was scouting for a lesbo couple next season.
Yuck, I won’t be watching.
