If there’s a market for it, it will find one. Its not the place of the government to pick winners and losers.

My car has sounds and I kinda know what's wrong and can take it to any mechanic in town.

Is the trick here going to be that when there is a problem, the only place to get it fixed is the almighty GM dealer...and we know that no matter what it is, it's going to be VERY, VERY expensive and that you're gonna get scr**** up the kazoo.

Looking back through history it may very well be the case that every government of any size has deep down really been a plutocracy, regardless of what it was labeled, e.g. communist, fascist, democracy, etc.

In the past leaders were more afraid of the masses, and so the wealthy few spent a bunch more time and money keeping them under control.

Democracy may just be that form of plutocracy where the leaders have figured out that carrots sometime work better than sticks. If enough people are doing OK then there is no longer a need for a harsh dictatorship.

As long as the wealthy get their cut first, suburbs work just as well as gulags.

Why can't we just all have electric-powered, light rail cars with low flow toilets and curly lamps for reading books or using our laptops on the way to the unemployment office?

eliminate roads, eliminate gas stations, eliminate traffic.

Want to go somewhere far away in a big hurry?

Just hitch your on-board, knuckle coupler up to the high speed railroad and zoom away!
