When Hendrik Luesch invited me to Florida to go snorkeling, I didnt expect to be wading through brackish muck in the Indian River Lagoon, a 156-mile-long estuary. (Snip) Luesch sprinkled Symploca extract on cultures of colon, bone, and breast-cancer cells, and they withered within hours, as though theyd been doused with Roundup; he did the same with healthy cells, and they survived virtually unscathed. Luesch christened the new compound largazole (the first batch came from algae near Key Largo), and has recently completed animal testing: in mice, largazole slowed the growth of cancerous colorectal tumors.

If it was anyone but Newsweak I might be encouraged.

I’m on the roller coaster ride with a friend who is losing the fight against stomach cancer. He’s into the third cocktail of poisons to chase this off, but things don’t look good. I’ve talked with many who have witnessed stomach cancer, and very few survivors are seen.
One of these days...we gotta keep on looking, and trying, and praying.
Thanks for the encouraging post.
dittoes to that
Prayers for your friend.

It would be great if all your cancers were in tissue culture dishes.
That aside, cancer is a *itch. It's difficult because it actually isn't foreign enough to readily isolate and kill off, it's just normal cells that have mutated and begun to grow out of control and to spread or metastasize to other parts of the body.
There are numerous herbal or organic substances that promote cell death or apoptosis, and this sounds like it's such a substance. Successfully capitalizing upon these substances has thus far proven elusive. Curcumin, found in turmeric and curry, does the same thing. Whether it works as well as this "Largazole" is another question.

If it cures cancer the FDA won’t allow it unless one of the major pharmaceutical companies ponies up major bucks and some jobs.

Problem is we can cure or prevent polio, small pox, tuberculosis and the plague but now we die, a few years later to be sure, of heart disease, strokes, cancer and Alzheimer’s. Cure cancer and there will be something else to get you.
Yes, but probably significantly later...
You see that as a positive outcome, don't you?
