Wolanyk said he knew what was coming and took off his pants and shirt, leaving him in Calvin Klein bike undergarments.
It was obvious that my underwear left nothing to the imagination, he explained. But that wasnt enough for the TSA supervisor who was called to the scene and asked me to put my clothes on so I could be properly patted down.
...
The incident was confirmed by Harbor Police Sergeant Rakos who said Wolanyk was arrested on two misdemeanors, failing to complete the security process; violation code 7.01 and illegally recording the San Diego Airport Authority (they confiscated his iPhone); violation number 714 (2).

People keep saying to boycott the airlines and don’t fly. I am wondering if there are some other options that will inconvenience the governmental types instead of ourselves and fellow law abiding citizens, or at least make THEM uncomfortable. Examples. Everybody buy a gun or everybody buy lots of ammo day. Everybody clog the streets of D.C. so Congress sits in a traffic jam. Other ideas? Things that will annoy and upset THEIR lives. And by “their” I mean those who love big government or are working for it, especially the lawmakers. Brainstorm session anyone?
There is no logic to any of this. This whole thing is simply a bitch-slap by nobama and the outgoing dems to show us they can.
But in fine DC form, the political class kicked the can down the road, hoping they could kick it far enough that they would not have to deal with it until they were safely retired from Congress and collecting hefty consulting fees.
That “law” is suspect. I am not sure it has ever passed muster when challenged in court, but most people don’t know that.
Technology could be our friend here. There are products that let you live stream from your mobile phone (Kyte, QIK, Bambuser, etc.). The video would be hosted remotely and thus avoid confiscation, at least up to the moment the phone is physically shut down.
Would also be cool to customize a cell phone to look like it was turned off but the camera is still streaming. Think Poe’s Purloined Letter. TSA agents can be directed to think obvious thoughts, even if they aren’t necessarily true. Just sayin ...
Unfortunately, they will be deemed “too big to fail” and be taken over by the government. I don’t know if that is the real reason for this outrage or if it is meant to anger us to the point of violence so they can really put the screws to us.
Further proof this is about power and control - not airline safety.
These are Nazis. They have the attitude “we shall control you underlings to our bidding”. Period. These are Nazi control freaks. Scum nobodies given an ounce of power to abuse criminally.
These are scum. These are Nazi powermongers. TSA needs to be defunded, disbanded and all employees fired.
As a policy is has been forbidden to videotape or photograph airport security personnel and stations for a long time. This is nothing new. I believe it was in response to a 1970s terrorist attack on an airport in Europe where it was discovered that the terrorists had conducted an extensive photographic recon of their target and the existing security infrastructure and had used the photographic information in planning their attack.
I used to fly about 25-30 times per year for my job. My new job (part time by choice) requires NO TRAVEL and I am happier than a three peckered billygoat about it!
Let’s see.
Illegals entering this country UNSCANNED AND UNPATTED DOWN.
American citizens, MUST SUMMIT TO SEXUAL ASSAULT.
Americans, the NEW SLAVES.
Defeatism has never won a battle.
Laws regarding recording of telephone or face-to-face conversations vary by state. Was there an expectation of privacy by either party?

Wolanyk ...took off his pants and shirtNow I'll admit to thinking of doing the same thing myself or even going further, but I don't have any sort of record of annoying authority (unless they read FR). I just don't think such people should be made into victims.
(And BTW, I'm thinking about buying myself a burqa to wear when I fly. Maybe I'll even wear a yarmulke underneath? Who could tell?)

State law cannot supercede the constitution. Telephone conversations have an expected right to privacy, or at least as far as nobody else should be able to hear the other party in the conversation. But any activity in a public place can be recorded. Essentially, anything that can be heard in public can be recorded. And, an airport is a public place.
The government thugs want the ability to violate the fourth amendment and fifth amendment rights of citizens while simultaneously violating the first amendment so that nobody can shed evidential light on their unconstitutional activities.
Could missile targeting be assisted by someone on the target, such as a passenger with a small, low power homing device? What if, just for the sake of argument, Homeland Security knows about a different kind of terrorist event planned for the holidays and that’s why they’re plying hardball on inspecting even toddlers. I’m not saying it’s so, and I’m sure not saying the ends justifies the means, but the Israeli security model is built on the assumption that the terrorist inflicting the damage will be in or close to the aircraft at the time of detonation. What if we have intel suggesting a whole new model has been developed that doesn’t require an in-person trigger-person? Suppose that, well away from the airport, a terrorist gives a child a piece of candy with an altitude triggered signaling device used to guide an otherwise inaccurate missile directly to its target? If our intel hasnt caught up with the terrorist ground units, how would we defend against an attack like that, other than, as you say, countermeasures from the plane itself, be it evasion or otherwise?
You are completely right.
You are right, of course, but it is hard to be optimistic when you see how upside down and backwards the world has become. We don’t really know who is with us and who is against us. It is pretty clear that the _resident belongs in the latter category, as well as the media that has covered for him. Who else? I have defended W for years, but now I have to wonder...is he really on our side or was he setting the table for Obama? If our intelligence agencies don’t have the goods on him, they should or they should relinquish the title “Intelligence” agency. We see blatant vote fraud and it goes unpunished and the cheaters win. We see 9 year olds strip searched at our airports while muslim women are allowed to pat themselves down. Things have to change soon or the defeatist attitude will be the only one that deals with reality. I believe our best offense and defense is prayer and lots of it. We need God on our side because it is becoming increasingly obvious that Satan is on the side of the left. Please pray.
It appears that the TSA is being protected by a few Gestapo-like laws: “Wolanyk was arrested on two misdemeanors, failing to complete the security process; violation code 7.01 and illegally recording the San Diego Airport Authority (they confiscated his iPhone); violation number 7.14 (a).” And, there was the arrest of “a woman who was allegedly illegally filming the x-ray, and TSA screening process with a video camera.”
If they have ground-to-air missiles in this country already, the chance to stop them has already passed us by. No matter how many people the TSA gropes.
