Public Acceptance of New TSA Procedures Has Been Exaggerated
Pajamas Media ^ | November 21, 2010 | Dan Miller

Posted on 11/21/2010 5:03:54 AM PST by DanMiller

The mainstream media ask all the wrong questions. A CBS survey concluded that:

Americans overwhelmingly approve of the use of full-body digital x-ray machines — a new technology in use at some airports in the U.S. Most, meanwhile, do not approve of racial or ethnic profiling — a practice not in place.
The following questions apparently were not asked: “Have you or an immediate family member flown on a commercial airliner in the United States since November 1, 2010?” and “Do you or an immediate member of your family intend to fly on a commercial airliner in the United States in the near future? If not, have your plans been changed on account of recent changes in airport security procedures?”

The report of the survey speaks of “two potentially inconvenient and invasive practices” at airports. However, the reported question asks only about the new “‘full body’ digital X-ray machines.” No question was reported about the second and certainly more invasive of the “two” techniques, presumably the “enhanced pat-downs.”

As to “profiling,” the question was whether it would be justified or unjustified for people of “certain racial or ethnic groups to be subject to additional security checks at airport checkpoints.”

The Republic might fall because of of financial irresponsibility. A simple, technological upgrade to a better scanning machine? You have to be kidding. Not even in the same dimension.

Your illogical, childish insults make you not worth talking to. Please don’t contact me beyond one last rant. I expect that.

Your hyphenated “conservatism” is underwhelming. Anyone who would hand their loved ones over to sexual predators for money is no conservative.

As I said before, my conservatism is to the right of Ronald Reagan’s. Most of my suggestions to cut government are more radically conservative than many conservatives would approve, including the screaming-meamies obsessing about airport screening. I’ll add a few more, just for additional clarity:

13. Homosexual behavior is perverse and should not be normalized or recognized legally under any circumstances.

14. Affirmative action is discrimination and is unconstitutional.

15. Racially-based governments like Indian reservations are anachronisms and should wither away through public disapproval.

16. Vouchers should be available for those opting out of the public school system.

17. Unionism is restraint of trade, and should not be protected. If union member want to meet or picket, fine; just don’t bestow legal advantages.

“Hyphenated conservative.” Now that’s rich. If there is to be disqualification because of one disagreement, and true conservatives like myself are peeled off because of the lack of purity, then the anti-scanners are bound for as much electoral success as any other minor third party movement: none.

Your post makes NO sense. It's totally disconnected and not one sentence has anything to do with another.

You know, troll, this republic is going to fall from moral and ideological reasons, not financial ones. And you' re supporting the government buying new intrusive scanners and claim you're worried about our country's financial situation?

Here's a way to save money. Get rid of the TSA and Dept of Homeland security.

You've been coming down to the left of even DU on this issue. Apparently our fourth amendment rights mean nothing to you. You've been supporting this atrocity the whole time.

You're no conservative, you're no *hard core* conservative, and you're posting history doesn't support your contention that you're a small government supporter.

I fail to see how your support for sexual molestation by government agents fits into your “right of Ronald Reagan’s” political stance. Do you think that if they pretend it’s for our own good, for national security, that makes it a conservative position?

As I said before, my conservatism is to the right of Ronald Reagan’s.

There is NOTHING in your posting history to support this absurdity.

Most of my suggestions to cut government are more radically conservative than many conservatives would approve,

As a rule, conservatives almost NEVER describe their beliefs as "radical." Your rhetoric gives you away.

As far as everything else you wrote, they appear to be talking points that the DUmmies gave you to sound conservative.

The use of the word "radical" made me very suspicious; conservatives NEVER use "radical" to describe their own beliefs, lefists do.

That is nothing but laziness speaking. My posting history is solid conservatism to the core.

There is a minority of posters who, if one does not slavishly adhere to their most oddball views on a particular niche interest (the Fed, truther inanities, etc, etc.) , will make laughable claims about another’s faithfulness to the overall cause. Then they comically make use of the “liberal” or “traitor” tags or call for “zotting.” Just the kind of unthinking, control-freak behavior that they howl about.

In this case, there is an unthinking contingent that holds views barely indistinguisable from that of the ACLU (and use the identical rhetoric to press their case); yet, they have the gall to label someone else a DUer. Complete, 100% nonsense that is beyond farfetched.

I’ve posted my political philosophy in #97 and a later one. Items #1 thru #17. How about you do the same, so people can judge the relative strength of conservatism that is being adhered to?

Once more, your DUmmie friends saying it sounds conservative doesn't make it so.

There is a minority of posters who, if one does not slavishly adhere to their most oddball views on a particular niche interest (the Fed, truther inanities, etc, etc.) , will make laughable claims about another’s faithfulness to the overall cause.

Your TOTAL SUPPORT FOR GROPING is not an "oddball view" and you can go back and tell all of the perverts in DUmmieland the same thing.

In this case, there is an unthinking contingent that holds views barely indistinguisable from that of the ACLU (and use the identical rhetoric to press their case); yet, they have the gall to label someone else a DUer.

No, Americans with any degree of common decency are appalled at the groping.

And for yet another of your slip-ups, FReepers DO NOT call DUmmies "DUers", we call them DUmmies. You and the other vermin call each other DUers.

I’ve posted my political philosophy in #97 and a later one. Items #1 thru #17.

Yes, I am sure the DUmmies taught you how to cut and paste.

How about you do the same, so people can judge the relative strength of conservatism that is being adhered to?

My conservative views are quite well known, I don't see any need to list them. Tell you what, go ask your fellow DUmmies what they think of wagglebee and get back to me you if they need any further clarification.

I didn’t expect a forthright reply, so I can say that I’m disappointed.

It's not slander when it't the truth.

What a load of garbage. Nobody has to go through your complete posting history looking for a needle in a haystack.

Your liberal, socialist, left of DU position on government intrusion into our lives and trashing the Fourth Amendment is clear just on this page alone.

You are only a useful idiot for the left, pretending to be a conservative and advocating for this kind of tyrannical oppression of our freedoms.

Work for the TSA, do you? It's the ONLY reason that could explain why you're justifying and defending this. Usually people who defend cr@p like this are connected to it and defending themselves.
