Pilot if the F-22 Raptor that crashed in Alaska was a Michigander.

God bless the men that fly and fight.
Controlled flight into terrain is my guess. If they found pieces of flight uniform, he's gone. I was on a recovery crew for an F-15 that went down. Glove tips, parts of boots, and tiny fragments are generally all that is left when a high-performance fighter goes down with the pilot.
Our fighting men are in danger from the training and equipment. It's the nature of the job they do. God bless them. And their families.

I admit that I don’t watch much news any more but this is the first I’ve heard of this. I’m so sorry to hear that one of our airmen has died. Very sad!
To: malamute
Sad. I was kind of afraid this would be the case, with no locator beacon or radio contact with the pilot since the plane went down.
If no mayday call or anything before the plane went off the radar probably means he flew into the mountain.

I usually don't post stuff like this but got an email from a relative that stated,"This is not a hoax. US and Canadian Navys have been playing cat and mouse with Chinese submarines for weeks. China launched a missile from within US territorial waters last week. An American F22 Raptor has been effectively shot down over Alaska by a Chinese submarine based laser weapon."
"ANCHORAGE, Alaska The military says the wreckage from a missing F-22 Raptor has been found in Alaska near Denali National Park. An Air Force pilot was on a routine training mission with the F-22 Raptor when he lost contact with air traffic control at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday Alaska time."
Am posting because did a google search Here and Bing Here and there are a number of articles on it. Don't know if hoax or what, but just posting to see if anyone knows anything about it. . .

Click on pic for past Navair pings.
Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.
