For Frederica Wilson, style is substance when it comes to her hat collection.
The former state legislator who was elected to replace Kendrick Meek in District 17 is as mad as a hatter that head dress is prohibited on the floor in the House of Representatives on Capitol Hill.
Wilson, a Democrat from Miami, is known for having a hat for every outfit and every occasion. She's probably more known for her trademark style than any piece of legislation she pushed or voted for, so it's easy to understand why she would feel her identity is being stripped away.
"Hats are what I wear. People get excited when they see the hats. Once you get accustomed to it, it's just me," Wilson told the Miami Herald. "Some people wear wigs, or high heel shoes or big earrings or pins. This is just me."

Bella Abzug. So what? I think she is right to question the ban. There are a lot of congressional rules that I think are just plain stupid. Like being censured for calling the President a liar, when he lies to your face.
She wants to make rules but she doesn’t enjoy obeying them. Reminder: she is the gov’t.
Traditional etiquette dictates that gentlemen must remove hats indoors; ladies keep their hat on.
But this is now so old fashioned as to been largely forgotten as well as other rules of etiquette such as men holding doors for ladies, giving up seats in trains and allowing ladies to exit elevators first, etc as a result of the gender equality fanaticism of the past 30 years. http://www.emilypost.com/common-courtesies/479-hats-off-the-who-what-when-where-of-the-hat
So do you obey all the rules? Are you going to let some TSA guy touch your junk because its in the rules?
I seem to remember pictures of her (Abzug) speaking on the floor wearing her absurd hats.
But she’s a Black liberal Democrat so it’s allowed. No foolin’ check the fine print. It says black liberal Democrats are to be treated like children.
Seriously, it’s not a bad hat. But it IS very western in appearance. If I saw a woman strolling down the streets of Sedona wearing it, I’d think nothing of it. Not sure that I’d call it “subdued” either.
Used to be you could bring your hunting dogs into the chamber with you. I have an old textbook around here with a pen and ink drawing of the Congress critters with their huntin’ critters runnin’ all over the place. Now THAT was a civilized nation.
How about a link to the article? Your links just take you to the silly image.
Do I MAKE the rules?
Do you obey them all? Are you a sheeple or an individual?
Imagine the life of a poor soul married to one of these walking pains-in-the-arses.
.
Folks acting as our national representatives should be able to wear the clothing that they wish, as long as it is very modest sexually, in good repair and clean, and modest in style. That includes hats, jackets or lack thereof, short pants and jeans.
She cant wear her hat, thats racist
Wear it, bro!
What will they do when a raghead Woman gets elected?
Start a campaign for her - fight for her right to wear a hat!
You seem SO obsessed for “HER” rights. How lame!
While the country is going down the toilet, her main concern and yours is ‘her ‘right’ to wear a hat’.
Charlie Wrangle would love you in his corner, if you aren’t already there. These politicians NEED protection and your the person to do it!
If she is a member of the Church of God in Christ, I can understand why wearing a hat is so important to her.

First of all, what does her color have to do with anything?
Secondly, what the heck is wrong with her choice in head coverings? I think they are pretty cool.
BTW the TSA rules require that they fondle your junk. Are you OK with THAT rule? Would you call her arrogant if she refused to allow some lesbian TSA agent to handle her stuff?
