If the machine didn’t read the filled in bubble correctly for Miller ( think back to college or high school when you thought you filled in a bubble correctly and it was marked wrong because you didn’t fill it in completely, didn’t completely erase your wrong initial bubble you filled in by mistake or “overfilled” your bubble so the machine graded it as wrong— been there seen this up close), then your vote didn’t count for Miller. So if you’re going to hand count Murkowski votes for “intent” you need to hand count Miller votes as well, it’s only fair. How much you want to bet Murkowski counted on this different counting method to push her over the top?
Also there is no reason reported write-Ins for Miller shouldn’t be counted. They would be counted here in NY, a vote is a vote. Also following Alaskan law, where is “intent” and “misspelling” allowed?
This is an easy one for Miller since we have a 7-2 Supreme Court decision just 10 years ago that says you cannot give special consideration to only part of the votes.
