There are actually things I like about Stewart. It is demonstrated in some of his remarks here.
Palin is a public figure, so parody, and criticism is fine as long as it doesn’t veer into nutter territory.
I love Sarah Palin! Went to every rally she had in Virginia in 2008. Brought my wife and daughters. Proudly displayed a “Palin” sticker (with McCain snipped off) on my car. But her show is super dull. It won’t last IMO. The boy sneaking up the stairs to see the daughter after Sarah told him no was a complete set up and stupid as heck.
You’re doing it wrong. You’re supposed to be enraged all the time like a liberal. Obviously you just aren’t conservative enough.
Now back to the DU with you troll. [/sarc]
This guy as some moments of decency. I still don’t think he is funny but there are moments of clarity stumbling out once in a while.
I see him as a lefty who is actually a critical thinker. There really are not that many of them.
Funny, I feel the same way about him.
Stewart can be funny even when mocking conservatives.
Don’t BARF but I got the feeling that when Stewart was being interviewed by Rachel Maddow that he was bitting his tongue not to insult her to her face. He kept trying to explain to that dimwit that he was a comedian, not some progressive activist like her, she wouldn’t buy it. I know many here don’t either, but my impression is that while he may be liberal, he’s still a comedian (ie funny) first.
Growing up, most of us have known this kid- the semi smart kid that makes others in the classroom laugh by pointing out the flaws in others and picking on them in some crude way. The humor is “always” at the expense of others.
Some people beat people up with their fists. He's just a punk kid that beats up others with words, but that somehow is acceptable. He's a despicable person that might as well be standing outside a shopping center and tripping old ladies and tapping it for some laugh track show.
Folks like this are convinced of their own intellectual superiority. They spend their entire life trying to be “intellectual” and “sophisticated,” proving this to themselves and others by amassing symbols because they have an ego larger than life. Usually, like the punk in school they're witty and semi smart, but not really brilliant. The one I recall (Peter) ended up studying sociology (something that doesn't have to much math) his brother another punk studied Anthropology, and I'd bet a dollar it's no different with this punk Jon Stewart. You're dealing with a miserable, negative thug that has no morals, decency or honor, who makes his money by belittling and picking on folks that often are defenseless. Wow- what a man.
” “Shes not doing anything wrong. If you dont like how far shes going, dont watch the show.” “
finally someone on the left with a modicum of decency
Good for Stewart
What bugs me most about him is his Scottish stage name. He’s right off the set of a bad “Seinfeld” episode, but won’t answer to Leibowitz. He’s (ESPN’s) Tony Kornheiser’s younger, collagen-lipped twin, but he calls himself Stewart.
Limbaugh is Limbaugh, and Beck is Beck, wish Leibowitz had the balls to be Leibowitz.
Who here is a teacher?
Watch Jon Stewart and tell me if that isn't the punk kid in the classroom picking on others, making everyone laugh at the expense of some other kid that can't really fight back?
While he’s saying something that is agreeable to some here, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s just an @ss.
On June 19, 2001, Stewart and his wife filed a joint name change application and legally changed both of their surnames to "Stewart.
The couple had their first child, Nathan Thomas Stewart ........Their second child, a daughter, Maggie Rose Stewart..... They also have a cat named Stanley and two pit bull terriers....
Apparently Jon Stewart gives a shit else why would he spend so much of his valuable air time talking about it.
As an added note Jon Stewart is on channel 85 of my cable service. Channel 85 is the same channel that brings Comedy Central. That says it all.
I though the show was poorly written, directed and it was boring. Notice TLC emphasized the segment when she voiced she was "not a quitter" when climbing the mountain.
I'm not sure I trust the producers at TLC to put her in a good light...will have to watch a few more episodes.
I didn’t see it all, but what I did see I liked.
I’ll be recording the rest so I can see the whole thing.
He leans left but he still is critical of the left on a regular basis. He rammed a stick up Rangels a** last night. It was great.
I have only been watching him for several months but I think he rails against the elites, R & D, more than liberal vs conservative.
This is close. Hesh got served Nov. 2, and part of that was the DUmmie disgronification over the fact that his "Oy, Gevalt!" rally was a put-up, a farce, and not Lenin-at-Petrograd.
