I’m thinking the next new word might be “hopeychangey”...but not sure if Obama or Palin should get credit for it ;-)

There’s an interesting dichotomy at work in the political spectrum.

There’s the official, elected end, which has historically held unlimited power. And then there’s the unelected end - the people who mix among the people and communicate to them the ideas and beliefs which they believe are correct.

And in this day and age of hyper-communication, the gap seems to be closing quickly on the question of which end of the spectrum can wield more power. A powerful and persuasive voice such as Sarah Palin’s is arguably more powerful than the President himself. When the idea-sowers (like Palin) can contribute to such a huge shift in power in the legislative branch, they are arguably more lethal in the arena of politics. This wasn’t just about tipping the balances in Congress, this was an utter castration of Barack Obama that took place earlier this month.

The question, then, is where Sarah Palin fits in. In biblical terms, is she a queen or a prophetess? Is she more important to conservatism as a prophetess free to speak her mind? Or is she better off tangling with the legislative branch and having the Presidential bully pulpit whever every syllable is dissected and criticized? In the past, no questions, I’d say she’d more important as a “queen” than a “prophetess”. But given how much power she has RIGHT NOW - to be a kingMAKER - is she more valuable in that role going forward?

The other intriguing possibility is that Sarah Palin could indeed become BOTH “queen” and “prophetess” by taking office and CONTINUING to use outlets like Twitter and Facebook to spread the conservative message. It would be clearly unorthodox, but whereas Obama is a prissy little coward, Sarah Palin is fearless and could very well revolutionize presidential communications the way FDR did during the Depression and World War II.

Fascinating possibilities!

The breadth and depth of Palin's support is highly misunderestimated.

The left continues to attack her, and she continues to stand as the most powerful force in politics."

Yesterday, Sarah Palin’s Alaska premiered with explosive ratings. Unseen in the history of TLC (The Learning Channel). 5 million people tuned in! The first episode of the eight-part series was the most-watched program launch in TLC’s history…

Just a reminder that this first show can still be seen on 'Video on Demand.' I watched it again last night on RCN cable.
