The left must be in a tail spin. Sarah Palin has proven to be a phenomenon in politics, new media, pop culture, and the English language.
Sarah Palin attracted attention to the Fed Chair’s plan of Quantitative easing, pinpointed the egregious legislation that is Obamacare which does contain “death panels.” Paul Krugman confirmed it yesterday, with Rush Limbaugh stating that Sarah Palin was right all along. The Right Scoop has the video.
Palin adopted new media to get her message out there via Twitter and Facebook. As a private citizen, whatever she types and sends becomes international news.
One tweet she sent out a few months ago, utilizing a made-up word “refudiate” became the talk all over the media. Now the Oxford American Dictionary declared “refudiate” an official word. Via Dave Weigel:
An unquestionable buzzmaker in 2010, the word refudiate instantly evokes the name of Sarah Palin, who tweeted her way into a flurry of media activity when she used the word in certain statements posted on Twitter. Critics pounced on Palin, lampooning what they saw as nonsensical vocabulary and speculating on whether she meant refute or repudiate.
From a strictly lexical interpretation of the different contexts in which Palin has used refudiate, we have concluded that neither refute nor repudiate seems consistently precise, and that refudiate more or less stands on its own, suggesting a general sense of reject.
Yesterday, Sarah Palin’s Alaska premiered with explosive ratings. Unseen in the history of TLC (The Learning Channel). 5 million people tuned in!
The first episode of the eight-part series was the most-watched program launch in TLC’s history…
TLC has hit bigger numbers over the years for non-premiere episodes, with Jon & Kate Plus Eight pulling about 10 million for one episode during the peak of its tabloid headlines.
I never seen this in my lifetime following politics, especially among conservatives. For those who continue to say Sarah Palin is just a flash in the pan, could they please explain to me how is it after two years since her premiere on the national political stage, is she more popular than ever?
I’ll tell you why. Most Americans are center-right and see Sarah Palin as an extention of themselves. The left continues to attack her, and she continues to stand as the most powerful force in politics.
As Dan Riehl said on Twitter last night: Right about now, I’m thinking @KarlRove would have killed to do something like #SPAlaska for GWB in 1998. #Justsayin
Rush said it: the left will tell you who they fear the most.
Not even once in a long while?
Okay. *wink*
We’ve always known we had a winner in Sarah Palin...yippee!!!
Yep, if Sarah gets the nod AND is elected President, you betcha there will be DitL threads- mainly to piss off all the PDS crowd!
“Romney cannot win. Huckleberry cannot win. Pawlenty cannot win. Thune cannot win. Jindal cannot run or win. Jeb Bush cannot win. Dittos for Mitch Daniels, Paul Ryan, Rick Perry, Duncan Hunter (I or II), or the Pillsbury Doughboy. Neither can John McCain, GWB, Bob Dole, GHWB, Gerald Ford, or anyone who resembles them in appearance or (lack of) principles.”
I don’t know who the “Pillsbury Doughboy” is, but I kind of like Pence. I was going to say we’ll find out who the winner will be soon enough, but it’s a year and a half away! LOL
You betcha and troll free, too!
Can’t wait!
Just joking, but there sure has been an up tick in them recently - I can smell their fear. :D
He is the little pudgy white biscuit guy that dances around and sings on the TV advertisement, sort of like any ordinary RINO politician.
You’re right about the up-tick.
Time for some swattin’ or is zottin’?
Oh. I thought you might have been talking about Haley Barbour.
That's because you don't know anything about the history of the Ronald Reagan Revolution.
To those of us who were there, the resemblance is uncanny...although I personally like the parallels between Sarah and Maggie.
