Sarah Palin's usage/invention of the word "refudiate" in a Twitter message has again been referenced in a story in The New York Times. Setting aside the question of whether "refudiate" was the result of ignorance, an innocent typo, or whimsical invention, I'm wondering if Obama has ever made a similar gaffe concerning the spelling or meaning of a word. I know there was the "57 state" gaffe, the mispronunciation of "corpsman", the reference to the non-existent Austrian language, and so forth, but I'm curious about gaffes specifically involving word usage or spelling.
Weed weed up...or however this non word is spelled
No, but he’s been breathalyzed or is that inhalated in all 58 or is that 57 states.
Obama has made many gaffes, but he is the mainstream media’s guy, so we rarely hear about them.
epantsipation
This comes from the New York Times, it is the same as coming from the DNC or the Daily Kos.
Just ignore it , no one read that trash except kool-aid drinkers anyway.
corpseman
Besides, his mistakes are just typos on TOTUS which are someone else's fault.
All 57 states...
Corpse-man
Whimsical.....You betcha!!
He and Michelle both speak with atrocious grammar. I know I’ve noticed his misuse of words before, but I realize you are looking for specific examples. How many times have you heard Michelle say, “Me and Barack”? They both get tripped up with I and me fairly regularly.
Bill Clinton was not sure what “is” meant
If I remember correctly, he misspelled SYRACUSE when he was filling out his brackets for MARCH MADNESS this past Spring on live TV (ESPN). The ESPN host quickly and surreptitiously corrected the misspelling on the chalkboard.
During his campaign he talked about an asthmatic boy going to the hospital and getting a breathalyzer instead of an inhaler.
“On this Memorial Day, as our nation honors its unbroken line of fallen heroes and I see many of them in the audience here today our sense of patriotism is particularly strong.”
I think the word you are searching for here is has Obama made any spoonerisms. This is when you get vowels or consonents mixed up while speaking.
Barack Obama, Im running for commander of chief on a record of standing up for our wounded warriors.
His whole Presidency has been a big gaffe.
