The first civilian trial of a Guantanamo detainee ended yesterday with the stunning acquittal of an alleged Al Qaeda operative on all but a single count.
A federal jury convicted Ahmed Ghailani, 36, of conspiring to destroy U.S. buildings and property in the 1998 bombings of U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania that killed 224 people, including 12 Americans.
But the jury - after 4 1/2 days of deliberation - cleared Ghailani of more than 280 other counts, including the top charges of murder and murder conspiracy.
Even though the charge he was convicted of carries a mandatory 20-year-to-life sentence, Ghailani appeared relieved, hugging his attorneys after the verdict was read in Manhattan Federal Court. You can read the verdict below

Way to go Team Obama-Holder! Next he will sue us and we will end up buying him a beach house in Barbados.
Well, you know the old saying. “I’d rather let 100 guilty terrorists go free than to prevent one innocent American city from perishing in a nuclear attack.”
Well, Obama and Holder got their way... they saved one of theirs. The libs should be shouting with joy.
The REALLY good news, this was the Obama administrations’ open and shut case!
Worry not: They'll still get their conviction against John "Touch my Junk" Tyner.
I thought Holder said this was going to be a “slam dunk”. Obviously, the dumb bass turd doesn’t know anything about basketball either! LOL!!! Retards!

SOaB - this was a military matter. It’s all downhill from here.
I agree
Did anyone expect anything different?
“Did anyone expect anything different?”
Yeah, I expected things to be botched, but not this badly. Somehow Mr. Obama will blame George W. Bush for this.
Now we know what the Holderites have in mind...
MOSSAD? You know what to do.
this can only hurt the obamanation gang.....
Memo to U.S. military:
This is what happens when you take prisoners, men.
Don’t make that mistake again.
I agree with you
Digusting.... libscum terrorist-sympathizers have made civilian court standards the basis for throwing away all reason and sanity in the pursuit of counter-terrorism.
Better 100 terrorists go free than one ‘harmless’ Al Qaeda lover be convicted, that’s the new motto.
Since any creative defense attorney can attack the evidence and present an OJ-style defense the Obama/Holder show trials are DOA.
No reasonable person can doubt that this guy was in the Al Qaeda network and helped to murder hundreds — but b/c every ‘i’ and ‘t’ can’t be crossed he gets off on all but one charge — and who knows what happens on appeal?
He never should have been brought into our country, period.
I’d like to hear from the prosecutor - what the hell happened? 280 counts - all not guilty.
