New York Times article details Palin's political machine.

Sarah Palin has clarified for the first time in a newly published interview that she is seriously considering a presidential run.

"I am," Palin told New York Times writer Robert Draper when asked if she was weighing a run in 2012. "I'm engaged in the internal deliberations candidly, and having that discussion with my family, because my family is the most important consideration here."

In a personal profile to be published in the upcoming New York Times Magazine, Palin said her decision would involve "evaluating whether she could bring unique qualities to the table," admitting the biggest challenge would be proving her record.

Clearly you haven’t read my posts. I don’t hate her, I just want her to stop evading when asked. She NEVER gives a direct response, its always elusive.

All your statistics are generic. Yes, it makes it probable that a Republican can win.

That's not the issue. The issue is whether Palin, specifically, can win.

Rest assured; Palin, specifically, can win, and she will win.

Romney cannot win. Huckleberry cannot win. Pawlenty cannot win. Thune cannot win. Jindal cannot run or win. Jeb Bush cannot win. Dittos for Mitch Daniels, Paul Ryan, Rick Perry, Duncan Hunter (I or II), or the Pillsbury Doughboy. Neither can John McCain, GWB, Bob Dole, GHWB, Gerald Ford, or anyone who resembles them in appearance or (lack of) principles.

Them are the facts. The left-wing push polls are going to say differently; that is the purpose of push-polling.

Yeah I guess if Palin stated, “I do not support amnesty”, it would all be clear.

Wait...she did say that.

Path to citizenship is amnesty, so what is her plan? Why won’t she say?

Because she hasn't got a plan. She's got a bumper-sticker slogan that appeals to a certain niche constituency.

In her defense, it almost never pays to actually have a plan that people can review and pick apart. Any practical plan (i.e., one that could get passed in Congress) would invite all sorts of wailing and gnashing of teeth.

But hey -- Obama showed that all you have to do to get elected, is read out the bumper-sticker slogan and rely on your media image to get you through the election.

What comes after, isn't important until there is an "after".

BINGO! We have a winner! She doesn’t want to say, because she knows she will lose some of her support as soon as she does.

R9 has a point that I’ll concede.

She is much smarter politically than she is given credit for...She consistently states she wants the border secure, makes references to fences etc. like she did on the TLC show.

She also states repeated she does not support amnesty. But she doesn’t go into details of who she will boot out or a plan for that...why?

The dems will be running it on Univision and the Southwest US nonstop and trumping up racism and bigot charges against Hispanics.

Hell my own friends on facebook call me racist and bigot for my views on the border and radical muslims.

You keep asserting I've made some type of positive statement about this issue when I don't even remember the details. nor do I really care, it's OLD NEWS.

I suppose you felt that Ted Kennedy's behavior at Chappaquiddick didn't really indicate his character after a while since it was "OLD NEWS"...

Really? These are my only two choices?

If not, then take it up with Gov. Palin's friend. She's the one who pointed it out. What's the third option you believe in?

Honestly I don't remember any of the details of this, only that it was appeared to be a trumped up 'scandal' by the Palin's political enimies. 'Troopergate'! A bunch of crap!

Then it should be easy to answer. Or even just point me to where I can get a copy of Col. Grimes' report--I lost mine and it seems to have been scrubbed.

Let me ask you, when did you stop beating your wife? You're pathetic.

Non sequitur, twice over with a side of straw man. Perhaps you don't understand the nature of the question; if so, I apologize for embarassing you.

If you've got a point to make, MAKE IT.

Evading questions rather than answering them should not be considered appropriate behavior. You're following the same logic as those who claim that even were President Obama found ineligible for office, or Rep. Rangel is guilty of fraud, it doesn't matter because they've gotten away with it for so long.

Gov. Palin never answered to questions about claims she made and it raises character questions.

While you're at it explain exactly how this would have any affect on her performing the duties of any elected office.

Some of us believes that character counts. I know that is old-fashioned, but thinking that elected officials should be answerable to the public and honest is not entirely dead.

And then, could you please let us in on who you support? It is amazing how these anti-Palinbots come out in droves but won't admit who they would prefer as a candidate.

I'd prefer she answer the questions and be honest. Must I wish that she continues to evade and hide, giving my support to someone else?

Remember, I was posting about Sarah Palin more than 2 years before you even registered this username, and before most FReepers had even heard of her.

That why when she says she would get rid of them if they don’t follow the rules, I wanted to know HOW? Because if we could locate them then, we should be able to locate them now. Her idea of letting them stay isn’t going to fly any better than Obama proposing it.

That comment is preposterous. Comparing Palin’s perspective of shutting down the border and not supporting amnesty to Obama. Obama wants as many as possible in, while feigning enforcement.

Obama wants the votes from Hispanics. It’s pretty obvious that conservatives are Palin’s votes.

She doesn’t have a plan and if she lets them stay, that is amnesty. Plain and simple.

Is it better for her to get it out in the open now and deal with it, get a handle on it, or wait until the election is imminent and then let it out just before the election?

I think her waiting until the day before the election to endorse Adams and Trancredo, is pure CRAP. Why didn’t she endorse them before that. I really think had she done so Tancredo would have won. He was so close at it was. I think her late endorsement cost him the election.

What didn’t she like about them? Was it their stand on the illegals?????

Don’t put words in my mouth. I did NOT compare her border stance to Obama. I compared her handling of 12 million illegals, with how Obama wants to handle 12 million illegals.

“Don’t put words in my mouth.”

Thanks for proving my point. Quit putting words into Palin’s mouth.

Interview with Lars Larson on 12/3/09:

“LARS: The amnesty proposal that was defeated in Congress — in your view, was that amnesty for illegals and would you back amnesty for a path to citizenship, as the current president calls it?
SARAH PALIN: No, I’m not for amnesty.

“We need to secure our borders and I am not for amnesty.”

She has spoken more than just those few words. If you listen to the rest you would know that she is for path to citizenship. I posted a link to her interview with O’riley earlier, and she talked about having them register to stay........... and when he asked if they didn’t register then what she said, get them out. Letting them stay IS AMNESTY, I don’t care how much you try and deny or twist it.

The fact that she won’t tell us what she would do SPEAKS VOLUMES. In this instance it isn’t so much what she says (which is vague) it’s what she isn’t saying that matters.

You don’t accept her at her word. BFD.

You’re either a RINO Romney Troll or a 1 percenter.

Either way it doesn’t really matter, you’ll never vote for Palin. Either way you’ll help put a RINO in like Romney.

R9’s point and mine were one and the same, though you are to ignorant to realize that! LMAO

I’ve said it before and will say it again. I will vote for Palin AGAIN, I just want her to be honest with us on what she plans to do with 12 million illegals.

Bye.
