Obama Advisor: "He is bored to death and too talented for ordinary people"
Pittsburgh Live ^ | November 15, 2010 | Ralph Reiland

Posted on 11/15/2010 6:35:44 PM PST by GlockThe Vote

In his biography of Obama, "The Bridge," David Remnick, editor of The New Yorker, quotes White House senior adviser and longtime Obama friend Valerie Jarrett: "I think Barack knew that he had God-given talents that were extraordinary. He knows exactly how smart he is. ... He knows how perceptive he is. He knows what a good reader of people he is. And he knows that he has the ability -- the extraordinary, uncanny ability -- to take a thousand different perspectives, digest them and make sense out of them, and I think that he has never really been challenged intellectually. ... So what I sensed in him was not just a restless spirit but somebody with such extraordinary talents that had to be really taxed in order for him to be happy. ... He's been bored to death his whole life. He's just too talented to do what ordinary people do."

Talk about a "yes man" -- or a devotee woman. The boss is so "extraordinary," so above the "ordinary" man, that he's been long-term bored to death -- untaxed, unhappy, uncanny and unchallenged.

And now unappreciated -- simultaneously called "pathetic" and "tone-deaf," respectively, by the left in The Progressive and the right in The Washington Times.

Turns out that Jarrett's wrong -- there's nothing "extraordinary" about Obama's talent in reading people or understanding economics.

Michael Phelps, Brad Pitt, Barak Obama and old preacher and a boy scout were the only passengers on an airplane when it started to crash. Unfortunately there were only four parachutes for the five passengers.

Michael Phelps grabbed a parachute and, looking at the others said..."I'm the greatest athlete in the land, so I must save myself.", after which he jumped.

Brad Pitt grabbed one and, looking at the others said..."I'm the sexiest man alive, so I must save myself.", after which he jumped.

Barack Obama grabbed a parachute saying "I'm the smartest President who ever lived." before jumping.

The old preacher looked at the young boy scout and said ... "Boy, I've lived a long and full life, you take the last parachute and jump to safety." ... to which the young buy scout replied ... "Don't worry sir, the smartest President who ever lived just jumped with my backpack!"

OMG!!!! It’s Deja Vu!!!

Every bit of that crap I just read in the excerpt could have been right out of the late seventies, early eighties, and written about Jerry Brown.

There’s never anything new that comes out of whatever it is we would normally associate with brains that Liberals have between their ears. NOTHING!

After seeing him during the campaign getting off a plane reading a book about a Post America World, I knew we were in deep doo doo.

Good one. The only problem: no way would BO be on a plane with a preacher and a boy scout.

I don’t think using a pen or pencil is a sign of intelligence, but one’s outlook on life. Optimists use a pen, realists use a pencil, pessimists never even try.

I guess we no longer have to wonder about her intelligence. That comes through loud and clear. Now go back to Chicago, Valerie.

Patrick Gaspard, former community organizer, ex-lobbyist for the Service Employees International Union and now director of Obama's Office of Political Affairs, is quoted in a 2008 New Yorker article describing what Obama said to him during his job interview: "I think that I'm a better speechwriter than my speechwriters. I know more about policies on any particular issue than my policy directors. And I'll tell you right now that I'm gonna think I'm a better political director than my political director."

"And above all else, I'm a better singer than Carly Simon. Ok. Ok. Wait a minute now. Listen:

Nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as me
Baby, I'm the best

You all weren't lookin' but somehow we found me
I'd never hide from our love light
But like soros above me
The press who loved me
Is keepin' all my secrets safe tonight.

And nobody does it better
Though sometimes I wish someone could
Nobody does it quite the way I do
Why'd I have to be so good?

I Won your election
With lack of affection
There's some kind of anger inside me
And your biggest fear now
I won't disappear now
How'd I learn to do the things I do?

Oh, and nobody does it better
Makes me feel sad for the rest
Nobody does it half as good as me
Baby, baby, darlin', I'm the best

Ok. Now, tell me, 'Thank you, Mr. President'."

Actually, the article is good, the Jerrett quote is astounding. From the article:

Inflated self-esteem can be decidedly counterproductive....

...The downside can be a declining nation that's overstocked with egotistical and incompetent narcissists.

That might be the problem at the White House.
