WASHINGTON (AFP) US Senator John McCain said Monday that he worried about eroding Republican support for the war in Afghanistan and "the rise of protectionism and isolationism" in his party.
"I worry a lot about the rise of protectionism and isolationism in the Republican Party," McCain, President Barack Obama's Republican rival for the White House in 2008, told a foreign policy forum.

The Arizona lawmaker cited incoming Republican senator Rand Paul, stressing "already he has talked about withdrawals from, or cuts in defense, et cetera, And a number of others are."
"There's no doubt that this new group of Republicans have come in with a commitment to take a meat ax to spending," said McCain, who underlined it would be hard to declare military outlays "sacrosanct" in such an atmosphere.

Not yet.
13 days since election day.
That conversion didn’t take long.
Has the stalker loon shown up yet?
What is best for the US.
Don’t count on McCain to know that.
Is it too late to tell the Vietnamese we don’t want him back?
I don’t trust AFP.
After everything we have experienced in the past, many of these reporters have been “inaccurately” and “misleadingly’ interpreting and then reporting what the Republicans are saying.
But my position:
1. REDUCE SPENDING.
2. NEVER SACRIFICE THE WAR. THE FIRST CASUALTY OF “UNDERFUNDED” WAR IS ALWAYS THE US SOLDIERS, OUR HEROES!
I will give both McCain and my favorite Rand Paul the benefit of the doubt to clarify or elaborate what they really had said!
Hah! Don’t count on McInsane to give a damn. He has Cindy’s beer money and the *love* of his democrat demigods, so what does he care about the little people?
” 13 days since election day.

It shows the gigolo-reprobate is getting old......he should have moved solidly leftward within the first 2 days.
McCain has been treated and released after suffering from temporary conservatism.
I don’t believe we should be running from Afghanistan or trying to make up our monetary short-fall off the military budget.
That being said, McCain is a blithering idiot. We shouldn’t become isolationist, but then that is generally McCain-speak for granting citizenship to tens of millions of foreign nationals here illegally.
Arizona, the people who live in your state that voted to return McCain to the U. S. Senate should go live in Mexico for a decade, to see what they want to turn the U. S. into.
Excellent point!
Poor old geezer can't move that quick anymore, eh?
Good thing he has good ol' Lindsey to help him. ;-)
In other words, he’s terminally liberal?
;-)
The apples don’t fall far from the tree....have had it with that creepy daughter, flip-flop wife and I’m sorry I even voted for McCain (need some slack here considering the 2008 other choice). I feel used and abused by this RINO.
” I dont believe we should be running from Afghanistan or trying to make up our monetary short-fall off the military budget.”
Close useless, or detrimental; federal agencies first!

Oh I dunno, I've never seen John in a push-up bra...
Well, at least we can deduce that she got her political views the easy way: GENETICS.
ROTFL! I can’t believe we have to suffer 6 more years of this fool.
That Senate will probably be the ruin of our 2012 chances.
Especially if Bozo bows out.
He must miss Ted Kennedy and Robert Byrd so much.
Nice to see he “completed the danged farce” and is back to being old rino McCain, lecturing us peons.
