Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- In response to a video of a California man's dispute with airport security officials, the Transportation Security Administration said Monday it tries to be sensitive to individuals, but everyone getting on a flight must be screened.
The video, in which software engineer John Tyner refuses an X-ray scan at the San Diego, California, airport, has sparked a debate over screening procedures.

I already said enough. I’ll go by boat, drive or fly with my son in his plane. Screw commercial and it’s not just because of the scanners, etc. I don’t trust them to not let Muzzie women through without a thorough check.
I don’t see a zot on qwertypie. Account is still there.
Funny he also was involved with the millions of gallons of Corexit that was sprayed in the Gulf.
Are blacks screened? Are muslims screened? Are Hispanics screened? It seems all I see are blacks screening whites.
Good thing that nobody asked for dogs' view on this, otherwise CAIR would demand execution of all dogs in the world.
Odd, they must have worked it out.
What I saw was
Suspended or banned
But that hours ago after the HAHAHA post oh well
Whatever
Thx good night
It seems all I see are blacks screening whites.
Finally somebody else notices (or admits it). My husband and I have ALWAYS noticed that almost all TSA/security type people are black. WTH?
Classics already answered that question. Here is a fitting quote from The Master and Margarita:
'Passport!' barked the cat, holding out a plump paw.
Understanding nothing and seeing nothing except the two sparks burning in the cat's eyes, Poplavsky snatched the passport from his pocket like a dagger. The cat picked up a pair of glasses in thick black frames from the pier-glass table, put them on his muzzle, thus acquiring a still more imposing air, and took the passport from Poplavsky's twitching hand.
'I wonder, am I going to faint or not? ...' thought Poplavsky. From far away came Koroviev's snivelling, the whole front hall filled with the smell of ether, valerian and some other nauseating vileness.
'What office issued this document?' the cat asked, peering at the page.
No answer came.
`The 412th,' the cat said to himself, tracing with his paw on the passport, which he was holding upside down. 'Ah, yes, of course! I know that office, they issue passports to anybody. Whereas I, for instance, wouldn't issue one to the likes of you! Not on your life I wouldn't! I'd just take one look at your face and instantly refuse!' The cat got so angry that he flung the passport on the floor. `Your presence at the funeral is cancelled,' the cat continued in an official voice. 'Kindly return to your place of residence.'
When they won’t allow us to get on airline flights at all. Then I’ll had enough.
Is screening the priority or is catching terrorists the priority?
Neither. Training submissive compliance is the priority.

Dead on. Unfortunately, so few people see this; however, slowly but surely, more are figuring it out.
Please; I wasn't implying that you were either of those things. The cartoon was a classic example of someone refusing to dissemble, which means "to put on a false appearance; conceal facts, intentions, or feelings under some pretense." If you had worn the teeshirt in question you would have been doing just that, as illustrated by the guy in the cartoon. I was merely using the cartoon as a means of underscoring my point.
What’s with the “troll” insult. Maybe it because some conservatives see screening as a necessary evil and compromise. What I don’t see coming are reasonable alternatives, only hyperbolic accusations about “nazis” and “groping” that are so over-the-top that one can only shake a head.
I’ll pose a hypothetical: establish 3 airlines tomorrow.
Airline #1 offers no screening whatsoever to satisfy every libertarian in town.
Airline #2 only profiles Muslim-looking men and waves everyone through (approximate solution offer by many who insult me)
Airline #3 uses today’s security measures.
I’d bet that 99.9% of Americans would still use alternative #3, and that many posters here - when confronted with the actual reality - would too. The line for #1 would be non-existent, and pilots for #1 and #2 would have to be paid a hefty premium in order to fully staff. And no one would send their kids on them.
Absolutely right. The screening is just alot of worthless conditioning to get people to accept anything. From an airline employees perspective I know this to be true. The pilots and FAs are getting this treatment as well, including those that are authorized to carry firearms in the cockpit. Makes sense uh? Nov 24 is “Opt Out” day. Let the chaos and civil disobedience begin. Hopefully travel will be all but shut down Nov 24 and then maybe douchbag Nazipolitano and her minions will get a clue. I am firing off letters to my congress critters and senators tomorrow. I hope they will listen and start hearings on this BS!
4th Amendment: against unreasonable searches. TSA is unethical.
That's almost as putrid as the real thing!
Sweet photo. My 10 year old son came up with a solution that could save taxpayers billions. This was after we had a lengthy discussion about how ridiculous the “junk” groping TSA rent-a-cop solution was. He said, “make all airline seats out of pig leather. Problem solved. Again, this was something a 10 year old came up with.
Here is my solution. Have the Catholic Church develop a new sacramental called “holy lard”. Supply it to all TSA airport screening facilities. When a passenger gets selected for random enhanced screening, they will have Option A: T-ray naked body scan, Option B: junk groping, and Option C: Dip your right index finger in the holy lard, make the sign of the cross, and walk on through. Once again, problem solved.
The main qualification for employment in TSA is a degree in ‘Stupid’.
I never said anything to any moderator.
I’m among the hardest, hardcore conservatives on this site. I am an older military veteran. If Mecca was nuked tomorrow I would party. And if three fences were built along the Mexican border, I would not only cheer but also pitch in. If the national budget was cut by the 39% (that the deficit represents) without a dime of military spending being taken, I would do somersaults. I want to win in Iraq and Afghanistan, even if harsher methods are needed there and in Iran and Pakistan.
I am only trying to prevent a version of Bush Derangement Syndrome Redux, Mirror Image; imo, the anti-screening movement is a hysteria and not based good judgment. I am not a libertarian, only a conservative. Asking someone to go through a more detailed scanner, imo, is not anti-American nor even impractical.
PS: I forgot. Barack Obama is an affirmative-action trainwreck. Now, do you get my drift?
How far are we willing to go in the name of "safety."
I know many know and feel this is wrong, but they don't know how to voice it. So they usually go with, "It's unnecessary exposure to radiation," or "I don't want to be viewed in that exposed way." (Both of which are valid arguments to a point.)
But to me, the biggest point is that all of this feels like that dark future police state that we've read about in fiction books and seen in sci-fi movies.
It's all about "This is to protect you, citizen!" That's the scary part. There is no end in sight.
Today, it's "Citizen, for your safety and the safety of those around you, we must scan and look into everyone who is on this flight! (Of course, you can always choose not to fly.)"
Tomorrow, it may be:
"Citizen, for your safety and the safety of those around you, we must scan and look into your automobile! You must install these government scanners, or be subject to searches any time you use a highway! After all, these are government owned roads and we are responsible fr your safety. (Of course, you can always choose not to drive.)"
Or this:
"Citizen, for your safety and the safety of those around you, we must scan and look into where you live. We must set up these cameras in your home to insure everyone's safety as we watch over the citizens. No one is truly safe if bad people are allowed to do nefarious things in their home. Remember, this is for your safety! (Of course, you can always choose not to live in a house.)"
Or this one:
"Citizen, for your safety and the safety of those around you, we must scan and look into the food you are about to eat. we must know where it came from, who sold it to you, who prepared it, if the proper taxes were paid on it and if it meets the standards that we deem fit for the consumption by a citizen. Again, all for your safety! (Of course, you can always choose not to eat.)"
To me... these are the most important reasons to stop the TSA's recent behavior. In some ways we already have government controlling our behavior and reaching into our persons and homes. Licenses upon licenses, an abundance of frivolous taxation and more and more restrictions on daily movement, assembly and decisions. They will choose how you are cared for, fed, clothed, etc. It's all coming soon, much of it is already here! But enough is enough. Soon we'll have "Policing" vehicles in the street scanning everyone down past their underwear, for your safety! We'll have preemptive disturbance squads roaming around frisking citizens for their own protection as they go about to and from work or buying from a local store or restaurant. We're on a slippery slope to a fascist state, let's try to climb our way back to sanity.
Spread the word. Tell your family and friends. Do not let our cities, states and country become a police state where a small ruling class and their enforcers dictate how everyone should live. Copy and paste this to all friends and family if you want to.
Here's my only advice though... as it gets darker in this world, remember always Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. If you don't know who they are, then get ready for Sunday School! And if you're one of those types who frown upon the Bible, then you need to have a change of heart. Anyway, here's a bit of scripture from Daniel chapter 3. (For the whole context of the story, read the whole chapter. It's really interesting. For those in the know, you'll know exactly what I mean when you see the verses.)
Daniel 3:16-18Most people just stop at the part where they say God can save them from the furnace, but sometimes God allows us to be burned. Either way, give respect and honor to where it is deserved. Trust in God because God is the only one who can give you assurance and salvation. And the Creator did so by the shedding of His own blood on the Cross about 2,000 years ago.16 Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego replied to him, King Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. 17 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majestys hand. 18 But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.
We may have to endure the rule of man for now... Police State and all included... But know a better time is coming! The Reign and Rule of Jesus. The Messiah Yeshua! Therefore, above all:
Trust in God!
If I was the dad there I would have ended up in jail if they touched my daughter that way.
