A growing pilot and passenger revolt over full-body scans and what many consider intrusive pat-downs couldn't have come at a worse time for the nation's air travel system.
Thanksgiving, the busiest travel time of the year, is less than two weeks away.
Grassroots groups are urging travelers to either not fly or to protest by opting out of the full-body scanners and undergo time-consuming pat-downs instead.
Such concerns prompted a meeting Friday of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano with leaders of travel industry groups.

This is not being done for security, it's being done for control and to make people think that these intrusive actions actually make flying safer.
Let’s clog it down. If you are pulled out for the new scanners, opt for the feel-up.
Don’t forget to ask them if they charge extra for the “full pat down”!
Have a few spicy burritos beforehand in order “express your displeasure” with the TSA patdown...
Next Thursday there will be about 10 of us from this project flying and the airport ALWAYS uses the damn Porn-O-Vision.
I am going to try to get them all to commit to opting out even if we have to go to the airport early and forgo (OK, curtail) our traditional pre-flight cocktails.
We have to smash this irradiation of innocent travelers. Those of us who travel a lot may be courting long-term significant health problems.
It is time for Trusted Traveler AND profiling. For the latter we don’t even have to come up with book — contract El Al to write the procedures.
I think that when I go through next week, I will fall down screaming and shaking.
“It is time for Trusted Traveler AND profiling. For the latter we don’t even have to come up with book - contract El Al to write the procedures.”
Exactly.
The fact that they aren’t doing that is just more proof that the real intent is NOT safety and security, but intrusion and control of innocent travelers.
Along with some refried beans.
This revolt is quickly spreading. It’s about time!
Does TSA provide an opt-out pat down with a happy ending?
Do they offer the pat down with happy ending?
TSA “blogger Bob” response to 20-something girl being harassed, driven to tears and then ejected from airport.

These guys are mocking travelers online using handles to cover their identities. It’s government run amok.
A guy called into a radio show I was listening to last week (might have been John Gibson’s show). He said he refused the porno-scanner and opted for a pat down. As the male screener was doing his routine he made a few groaning noises and then winked at the screener. Immediately the screener stopped the pat down and let him pass.
I thought it was funny, but it could also have backfired on the guy big time...!
You took the burrito right out of my mouth.
“Blogger Bob” is a TSA hack who has no clue as to what’s going on at the checkpoints. All he does is regurgitate TSA PAO talking points and sing the praises of his detestable agency.
If they’re going to act ugly about complaints, then I think it’s time to bring a change of clothes and pee on the TSA agents.
I think it would be a great trick to get a group of men and women and each of them put like a 10 inch dildo in their pants - strap it in so it won’t move, then some volunteer for the scanner and others volunteer for the pat down! What a hoot that would be! It would be really interesting to watch the looks of the TSA goons when they pat that! Too bad I’m not flying anytime soon or I would do it.
I don't get no respect.. I asked the attractive young ladies for the full pat-down and they told me that it was the self-search line. (Thanks, Rodney Dangerfield.)
Cabbage. It's good for you.

I sense an opportunity for “fusion cuisine” - kimchee burritos!
Ask for a happy ending
