When we think of reality show, we think trashy housewives and serial dating, but this is not your typical reality show. Instead, Sarah Palin's Alaska is a unique look into faith, family, love, strong American values and the natural beauty Alaska has to offer.
It really goes into the life of Sarah Palin not the politics of it, Roxy Stahl from Motive Entertainment tells Townhall, adding that the show is designed to be a documentary rather than a reality series, showcasing the great outdoors.
During the course of the series, viewers will get to know Todd Palins grandmother Lena, an Alaska Eskimo who has passed on native traditions, such as harvesting salmon, to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Quite an impressive family history.
TLC is interested in creating more family friendly shows and more shows on the inspirational side, Stahl says.
In the premiere episode, members of the Palin family are seen fishing in bear country and scaling a snowy mountain pass in Alaskas famous Denali National Park.
Overall, this is an opportunity for viewers to see Sarah Palin for who she really is personally, as a wife, mother and career woman, without the media spin machine distorting her image or the distraction of being surrounded by political hoopla.

You win, and pissant and his fellow travelers, will be right there with them.
I can see being for or against a candidate, but the hatred against Sarah is so visceral that it's way past an abnormal fixation it's become a true phobia.
Sarahphobia, scared spitless of the Momma Griz.
“I’d rather be here where I’m free rather than in some stuffy political office” Sarah Palin
“I must be the only person on FR who is disturbed by all of the talk of wholsome Alaska lifestyle that involves underage sex, illigitimate birth, and drug dealing inlaws. Americans love their myths.”
Americans love their mass media distortions.
“I want someone who can actually win in a national election.”
No matter what he or she does once in office?
We have a couple of “conservatives” on this forum who are as delusional as Liberals; they are waiting for the perfect candidate for President. Ain’t no such thing.
“Sarahphobia”
Good one (because some of these so called conservatives have a bad case of Saraphobia, too)!
Alaska is no better nor any worse than the other 49 states. You can find the good and wholesome in addition to the bad and ugly in any of them. There is no “Alaska lifestyle” any more than there is a Pennsylvania lifestyle
or a Utah lifestyle.
I marvel at those who cry for a real conservative as candidate for President and then start sniping at the first one who comes along.
Why do we concern ourselves about the “libs”? They aren’t going to vote for her anyway, or even watch the show. They’ll be watching Weeds or Going Bad, the druggie show.
It's not, it's about Alaska and its people and just happens to be hosted by a woman named Sarah Palin.......
I think if you examine the case, you will find that those originated in and were exported to Alaska from the "lower 49". What people admire is the "frontier settler" mentality that still subsists in Alaska that has been largely lost in the "blue" areas.
You obviously don't understand. It isn't the "liberals" that need to be convinced, it is conservative leaning independents and disenchanted "Reagan" democrats". THEY, and no other group, were the deciding factor in 2010, and like will be such in 2012. THOSE folks probably WILL watch, just out of curiosity. And then learn who she is and what she is all about, which it appears is impossible for a large group of supposedly conservative "Freepers".
I’m not sure where you get your information, but my family lives in Alaska. My daughter-in-law is a nurse, and my son is a high school math teacher. In the summer he runs a halibut fishing charter.
My granddaughters attend a Christian college in Michigan and the oldest will graduate in December, finishing in 3 and a half years and is going on for her Masters in Kinesiology. She shot her first bear last summer. The two girls, like Sarah, led their bb team to an AK championship four years ago.
Their brother, a senior this year, wants to be a pastor, not a preacher or evangelist...a pastor. Their younger sister, a sophomore, has played bb for an elite Alaska team competing in tournaments in the lower 48 for the last two years. The two of them challenge themselves by going into the wilderness for five days with minimal equipment.
For the entire family, entertainment is backpacking for several days at a time. Give them a choice between pizza and TV or camping and they’ll camp everytime.
Yeah, they hunt, and all of them know how to handle a gun. All of them, the girls included know how to gut a halibut, and in fact, crewed for their father (getting good tips, I might add.)
Sarah’s so-called reality show is nothing more than a concentrated glimpse of an Alaskan family, and it’s a glimpse that I’ve seen up close and personal. From what I’ve seen of the promos, it rings true.
Sarah Barracuda, I’ve included you in this post because of your interest in AK...and Sarah.
Oh so right :-)
Russ, you need to read the posts of our Alaskan Freeper Eska.
I'm in awe of the Alaskan pioneer spirit.
Wow, your head is so far up your a** no wonder everything smells like sh**!
Just watch the show. At least you will be judging what you are seeing as opposed to what the enemies of decency and the Constitution keep telling you!
You're not quite right.
There is question, the girl just turned 20 a few weeks ago, and seems to be doing pretty well, she forgot to mail in her Alaskan absentee ballot during this whirlwind television appearance on a dancing show where she is earning a decades worth of income in a couple of months, it happens.
You really don't come of too well with your immature rantings against her and her mother. Bristol is not even a freeper, yet we get to see your pettiness exposed on thread after thread related to Governor Palin and her daughter.
