When we think of reality show, we think trashy housewives and serial dating, but this is not your typical reality show. Instead, Sarah Palin's Alaska is a unique look into faith, family, love, strong American values and the natural beauty Alaska has to offer.
It really goes into the life of Sarah Palin not the politics of it, Roxy Stahl from Motive Entertainment tells Townhall, adding that the show is designed to be a documentary rather than a reality series, showcasing the great outdoors.
During the course of the series, viewers will get to know Todd Palins grandmother Lena, an Alaska Eskimo who has passed on native traditions, such as harvesting salmon, to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Quite an impressive family history.
TLC is interested in creating more family friendly shows and more shows on the inspirational side, Stahl says.
In the premiere episode, members of the Palin family are seen fishing in bear country and scaling a snowy mountain pass in Alaskas famous Denali National Park.
Overall, this is an opportunity for viewers to see Sarah Palin for who she really is personally, as a wife, mother and career woman, without the media spin machine distorting her image or the distraction of being surrounded by political hoopla.

You really need to talk to someone, your mind is a little warped.
But I'm with you. I don't think Sarah Palin is the "end-all, be-all" like so many around here. In fact, I've got Palin fatigue...
I agree with you about some here giving the show a chance before giving a final opinion. I will be honest with you and thought Bristol was some stupid idiot who was ruining her Mother’s career UNTIL I got to see her in action on Dancing with the Stars and now see her in a very positive light. This show has the opportunity to change some people’s minds about the Palin family. I think overall it will be a good thing for Sarah to do this.
It sounds like you're someone who is wound up pretty tight about all this loose Alaskan lifestyle. But, I would bet you are really loose as a goose masquerading as a Puritan.
I'm not a Palin skeptic and after having read her book, and seen her at rallies, I have immense respect and admiration for her. Regardless, this does not mean that she is my number one choice for President if she were to run for that office.
You're assuming that it will draw a large audience. The libs I know won't even read her book.
I must be the only person on FR who is disturbed (don't flatter yourself) by all of the talk of wholsome Alaska lifestyle that involves underage sex, illigitimate birth, and drug dealing inlaws. Americans love their myths.A Hospice Nurse huh?
I also admire her for many things but I want someone who can actually win in a national election. So far she’s not looking so good as a viable candidate.
I admire Rush and I think he’s more conservative than Palin but I don’t want him to run, either.
I could go on for about 3 more paragraphs, but you get the idea. Sarah has the same problem most of us have and it's hard to make others do what you want them to do sometimes. What I do know is her daughter didn't kill the baby and is sorry she got mixed up with Levi and Sarah sure didn't have any control over potential inlaws. When Sarah found out her baby had Down's Syndrome, she didn't kill it and that's pretty much all I need to know about her character. 70% of High School students have sex before they graduate and many of them get pregnant. Most of them kill the baby. This isn't the 1950's anymore, so finding that clean cut all American guy scooter may get a little difficult to find now. Your choice would be Obama or Clinton. At least Obama hasn't put rubbers on the Christmas tree yet.
“I will be honest with you and thought Bristol was some stupid idiot who was ruining her Mothers career UNTIL I got to see her in action on Dancing with the Stars and now see her in a very positive light.”
No, I don’t think there is any question that Bristol is dumber than a pile of rocks. She even admitted that she forgot to vote.
East coast lefties' heads are exploding....
East coast lefties' heads are exploding....
Will there be a live thread....Is the left coast on delay?
An understandable POV.I advocate "Draft Palin" as my tagline, but that doesn't signify that I think she's perfect, of or even the best person in America to be president.
My point is that the best person to be president probably is someone you never heard of, and who can't possibly get elected. Because they have a life, and aren't in politics promoting themselves. And that of those that we have heard of, and who could get elected, Palin is near the top - and, I believe, would if nominated run a better campaign than those who might possibly be better in office than she.
IOW, Palin is good enough - and as we saw in '08, the Republican Party is entirely capable of nominating someone who is not good enough. Not good enough as a campaigner, and not good enough as a conservative to make a good president. I think Palin will always be trying to do the right things, and that she's effective at what she tries to do. But then, she has I hope (and believe, from Rogue) she has learned a lot about allowing yourself to be set up for an Alinsky attack . . .
She shouldn't have had to resign - but the people who put her in that bind are probably sorry that they did it. She can take a lesson, but she can give one, too.
I love, love, love your tag line....
I have some friends who live in Alaska. I am really looking forward to this series.
“I’ve got Palin fatigue...”
If that was the truth, you would have skipped this thread. Don’t try to whizz on our legs and tell us it’s raining.

Thanks :) one of my favorite movies.
So true. In unison this past week most journalist and commentators are “poo pooing” this as “unpresidential” and “ridiculous”. The name calling is awful.
Good Luck Sarah
