Many people saw the missile. They have posted their observations to many blogs. Links have been provided in threads. Even the original CBS story blog has comments from people describing what they saw. Please, you look silly when you state no one saw it.

When it came out that 3,000 people called 911 on the morning of the Northridge earthquake to report that there had been an...earthquake, I believe I became immune to ever having to worry about looking or sounding silly. On the night of the Vandenberg launch, 911 and local radio station lines were jammed with people calling to report the strange lights in the sky, even though local radio and television had been talking about it going to happen for the prior two days.

I live in Phoenix, and I have seen several ionized gas clouds from launches at VAFB. And, I have seen launches from S. California, 100 miles S of VAFB. Not a single witness has reported an ionized gas cloud like this, because there was NO MISSILE.

Just a bad report of an optical illusion that got the kooks in a lather. And, they have zero proof. Versus the USairways 757, or the UPS MD11-F that was in the sky at altitude, making contrails.

Well, the only expertise I have is being a Forward Air Radarman with access to Silos at Malmstrom and Launches from Vandenberg. Outside of that, anything needing Arizona ranges went through me. The Army in Fayetteville probably didn’t need my help. My Family was kind enough to keep me posted. :^)

We have news helicopters in the air every day. That flight comes through every day. Where is the video that contradicts the original video ? That is the minimum requirement to refute the rocket claim.

Distant low res web cam images wont contradict that zoomed in video. They cannot. Contrail images that look like a rocket plume taken in So Cal also cannot refute a video of a specific plume. Only a high res video of the same plane flight showing the same lighting characteristics, can.

Again, you need the flight at the right time, right place, weather conditions identical, it isn’t ever going tob eexactly hte same, but it will be happening again sometime.
Maybe you have to live out here and be a pilot to realize this stuff.

And, you still have zero proof. No actual data, no data on impact or launch site, nothing. No ionized gas cloud, no reports of anyone a few hundred miles North or South seeing this. No pilots calling this in to LA Center (BTW, LA Center ATC is live streaming on the web, no one has produced any recordings or such. No one on Catalina or on the Farallon islands reporting anything, nothing, nada, jack squat.

A TV reporter over reacted, then all the kooks took the ball and ran with it, to try to make it into something exciting that they could talk about because real world explanations for common things don’t fit their paranoid mindsets.

Funny, no one can answer the questions about why the same type of contrail was seen the next day when US808 was in the same place, or why there was no glowing ionized gas cloud. The missile truthers have no answers, no data, just paranoid ramblings......

What proof do you have that the web cam image was the same contrail in the video ? Just the time stamp ? There are contrails all day long here in So Cal when we have humidity. In fact the person who put that blog together claimed it was another flight. Flight UPS902. Not flight AWE808. So which plane was do you think was in the video ?

In post #366 I’ve asked how to reconcile the same event shown in images at post #58 when contrasted with post #303. Is that too much to ask? If #58 can be dismissed with an off-handed wave, then why not #303?

Or is it that the conclusion can NOT be mutually exclusive, but MUST be mutually inclusive, i.e, the conclusion must satisfy BOTH #58 & #303. If not the latter, but the former, then you and I can’t talk; it’s impossible to communicate when one party is irrational.

We have a closeup video image of what appears to be a rocket launch. Many experts claim it appears to be a rocket launch to them. That is why we are debating the topic. You have nothing but hyperbole. We do not know, launch point, launch mechanism, maximum altitude and we do not even know if it was successful. So the vapor trail argument in the upper atmosphere is irrelevant.

You are making yourself look silly typing that. There are numerous blog postings of people who saw this. Even on the CBS original story blog that started the whole thing. The links have been posted to threads, yet you refuse to acknowledge even that evidence.

No, the person said it could be the MD-11F from UPS, or the US8098 flight.

BTW, its listed as AWE because that is an existing America West route, but the plane was USairways East metal. The pilots have yet to come to a contract, so the metal is East or West, and this route, while being a West (AWA) route is operated by East, its the only Hawaii service operated by East, AWA runs PHX to KOA, OGG, HNL, and LIH daily in high season and, in the case of LIH and KOA its a few times a week in low season.

You make the ASS-umption that dozens of agencies and thousands of people knew what was going on?

Why would ACTIVE DUTY personel say something about a suspected missle launch when the situation needs to be investigated and the evidence gathered? Especially if it wasn’t one of ours....

Actually, you are being hyperbolic. We have comparative contrail photos, we know the weather and we know what planes were in that exact spot. We have that NO pilots in the area reported anything, NO boats reported anything and there was NO glowing ionized cloud. We also have the same weather conditions creating the same contrail 24 hours later when the same flight was at the same place in the sky

You have nothing but conspiracy theory blather, not a good place to begin a debate with. You have zero proof.

Optical illusions happen, its OK to admit you have no proof of a missile, you are relying on some selective video from a certain point in time at a certain place that makes it look like a missile, but there is no actual proof of any type to support your claim, versus a rational, logical, provable amount of proof that claims otherwise.

I have 47 years of Arizona in my blood, and I am an amateur astronomer, I have seen many ionized clouds in PHX from launches at VAFB. They aren’t easy to see, very very low on the western horizon, but they happen, they often get reported in the paper. When they launch at sunset, you can see it in PHX. But, unless you have an unobstructed western view and the conditions are right, you won’t see it.
