Really? I can think the guy would be busted for faulty emissions for a start.
Where I’m from - you drive an old clunker that backfires? You will be receiving lots of tickets.
Will you have police shooting at you?
If not before, then certainly after a backfire the emissions are going to be faulty.
I haven't heard a car backfire in years.
