13-year-old Cody Alicea rides with an American flag on the back of his bike. He says he does this to be patriotic and to honor veterans, like his own grandfather, Robert. He's had the flag on his bike for two months but Monday, was asked told to take it down. A school official at Denair Middle School told Cody some students had been complaining about the flag and it was no longer allowed on school property. "In this country we're supposed to be free," said Cody. "And I should be able to wave my flag wherever I want to. And they're telling me I can't." Cody's grandfather says the school was concerned about racial tensions or uprisings because of the flag. He feels if there was really a problem it should have been brought up two months ago, not during Veterans week. "No action should be taken. We don't want any repercussion," said Roger. "We just want Cody to be proud of what he's doing."
So, what is your solution?
Oh we CA FReepers understand all too well “what you’re saying”. We hear it all too often from sideline barkers.
Should we cut the whole of Pennsylvania loose as well since Philadelphia continues to promulgate the left-wing, anti-American point of view?
What about Maryland due to Baltimore? Texas because of Austin? How about the USA because of Washington D.C.?
It’s in every state of the union. Not just confined to CA.
We used to have a kid specially designated to raise and lower the flag every day.
HOW CAN IT BE ILLEGAL?!
Let Kalifornia join up with Mexico. We don't need them anymore. Let's keep all of our resources like water, oil, gas, gasoline and electricity in the other 49 states.
They hate all that nasty carbon anyway.
""I just brought that up yesterday. Let them become their own country.""
This is just a couple of years ago in downtown Dallas Texas, during the "conservative Republican" Bush years.
500,000 illegal alien and their supporters march on Dallas Texas making demands and threats....
Stick your head a little deeper into the ground and all this will go away...
Is everyone in this country in total denial?
He said some students got out of hand on Cinco de Mayo.
And here it is - this is the reason for making the kid remove the American flag from his bike. He doesn’t want more trouble from the hispanics who got out of hand back in May. Instead of disciplining the ones who got out of hand, he disciplines the kid who didn’t in an effort to prevent another out of hand situation.
The kid who didn’t do anything wrong gets his rights and feelings stepped on. The kids who caused the problems get their wishes catered to.
This should tell anyone who’s paying attention who is really in charge over there. It’s the hispanic kids who promise “out of hand” responses. The inmates are running that particular asylum.
Their phone lines are smoking....
I was just thinking along those lines myself! If they want these states back that badly, make them fight for them. Or, pay that gold back to the US that we gave them, and they were oh so glad to get back then! That is, if they don’t want to fight us for it all!
I have a strange feeling that they wouldn’t want to go there (grim laugh to myself)Yeah, rip up that treaty and demand that gold back! I don’t think most of them would want that. Until we get it all back and tear up that treaty, it’s still ours!

And here my Kids say the Pledge of Allegiance every day at school, and there is a flag in the class room. If that were to ever change, I think our entire school board would be running for cover.
The phone lines are still jammed...Can you imagine being a parent, and not even being able to contact the school?
lol...
How about the 40 percent of us out here who voted the right way pay our taxes and have flags flying in front of their houses? Sorry we’re NOT leaving. Free Republic is located in California by the way. Drive around Fresno Clovis and you’ll see plenty of flags. In fact there is a law on the books out here guaranteeing you can have a flag or representation thereof. It was passed because of housing associations that didn’t like flags. Unfotunately they forgot to include protections at school. These parents should sue. They WILL win. The last school out here that tried that stunt regretted it very quickly. We don’t need to run from these people we need to smack them dowm every time they stick their commie heads up.I just tried to call the school’s number and got an “unable to complete this call” message. I assume that means the smackdown has begun.
Nah, it's just that it's so much fun to pound on CA since it's the most obvious example of what's going wrong in this country.
The problems exist all over, yet, it's all CA's fault and CA is responsible for propogating the problems throughout the rest of the country doncha know?
And you are right, the cancer is spread to all states. However, there are some with more cancer than other. And at least PA every so often shows some sense. I have not seen that from CA since they elected Gray Davis. And it is getting worse. San Diego used to be pretty conservative, at least compared to the rest of the large cities in CA, but not nearly as much now.
Personally, I would love to cut off Philly from the rest of PA.

I’m getting awfully tired of these people wanting to give up huge portions of the U.S.A. to commies. Cowardice!!!
Mexicofornia, right?
It’s a damn shame. California is a beautiful state but if it would be at the very bottom of my list of states I would live in. It is a magnet for all anti-American lunatics.
I wonder what their American History book looks like?
