Cook County Board President-elect Toni Preckwinkle has announced a bipartisan transition team full of heavyweights from politics, the business community and civic organizations.
Among those appointed are former Gov. Jim Edgar, one of the states most respected Republicans, and former Comptroller Dawn Clark Netsch, a well-respected Democrat who lost to Edgar for governor in 1994...

Bill Brady a downstate conservative was the latest victim of the combine.
If this article doesn't convince you that the combine is true nothing will.
” team full of heavyweights from politics, “
Where are the Fat Police when we need ‘em????
Preckwinkle (combine) chooses Dawn Clarke Netsch (old hag combine) and RINO combine (Jim Edgar).
COMBINE PING!!! What more is there to say?
These are the people who handed Quinn the Governorship on a golden platter.
Yet there are still the brain dead who cannot fathom that the combine indeed exists.
If I forgot anyone on the ping list please pass this on to other FReepers, I added our most active IL FReepers to this PING.
I would take anyone in this state as long as they aren't part of the "bi-partisan" combine that chooses who wins and loses, the voters be damned.
This is starting to make more sense. They wanted to run Jim Edgar for Senate or Governor but he declined it for "family reasons". The combine knew he would win because he was the only Governor not indicted or jailed since 2000. He still is very popular, BUT he is part of the combine and there is no doubt about that.
And ping whoever I forgot.
‘family reasons’? which family is he reffering to?
A relatively short article that sums up what the Combine is:

It’s sad that Edgar the best Governor we’ve had since the 50’s.
So nice of him to help out Madame President-sElect.

In Combine, cash is king, corruption is bipartisan
March 23, 2008|By John Kass
All week, Stuart Levine, the Republican snitch who loves his gladiator movies, has been telling the story of Illinois.
He tells it from the witness stand in federal court, weaving the tale of this political boss and that political boss, that Democrat, this Republican, all working together for the common good.
He means, the good stuff in their wallets.
Obama and the MSM Define Bipartisan the Chicago Way: Its the Combine
Think the Chicago Way political machine is all about corrupt Democrat politicians and their cronies? Think again. Its bipartisan. While Democrats have run the Machine out of Chicago for decades, a supporting cast of Republicans has long participated in Machine enterprises.
Chicago Tribune reporter John Kass uses the term, the Combine to refer to the combination of Illinois Republicans working with Democrats to make hay for themselves regardless of whos driving the tractor. As Republican power-broker Bill Cellini once said,
When were in [Republicans], were in. And when youre in [Democrats], were in.
Not living in Crook County I typically don't give a rat's a$$ what the Board does, so I looked 'Toni' up on Wiki. Well, shock, this broad is one scary 'dudette'. She's another Obamabot and a Hyde Park commie.
And not surprisingly she hates guns more than America, so watch out for scores of new Crook County gun control laws coming. Not being able to buy ammo on-line will be the least of 'your' problems. Look for an outright assault on every Gun Shop in the county.
She'll hit them like Genghis Khan on a bad hair day.

Hehehe
Did you see any of her ads during the primary? She made herself out to be Ben Franklin (not joking) had kids dressed up as Ben Franklin as if she was one of the founding fathers.
I was warning that this woman was Todd Stroger in a dress, but worse. We knew Todd Stroger was corrupt and giving money to his relatives. I can deal with that.
But Preckwinkle will take guns from every day citizens and let the gang bangers run wild with AK-47s.
I love how the democrats always bring up AK-47s in their argument for gun control.
All of my friends who own guns own either have:
A) Rifles for hunting
or
B) Hand Guns for personal defense
I have never met anyone who owns an AK-47 for self defense the only ones with AK-47s are the gangs, who all are protected by the Chicago Democrat Machine.
Where are these people getting all their money from?
They all claim they are for the poor but they are all doing very well on their own!!!
And I concur on the AK-47s. I know many many many gun owners and none have an AK-47 (including myself). They may have every Rifle in the book, Shotguns for every purpose, Handguns for every Federal Holiday, but no AK-47 (or variant). The closest thing to an AK-47 that you'll normally find by 'Legal' gun owners is an SKS. My neighbor just bought one and I've wanted one since I got my 1st C&R License from our friends at the BATF a decade ago, but I keep putting it off. 'Other stuff' always seems to come up as a priority purchase.(1)
So yeah, its basically only the gang-bangers who have 'Choppers'. But their (cough) 'parents' Vote so they're a protected sub-group and are safe from any tough gun law charges when busted or when sentenced to prison. (Each one could be turned over to the Feds for prosecution and REAL prison time but the Chi pols wouldn't dare do that).
(1) But I do love that 7.62x39 round that both the AK-47 and SKS use. 'One day' I'll get that SKS.
I wonder if she was the choice of the same Hyde Park socialist intelligentsia as our fearless leader.
