As the nation swept the Democrats to the curb on November 2, the sheer relief of having been rescued from consignment to a collectivist dustbin was a blast of pure oxygen. Obama was not only crushed; he was disowned.
While the absolute gains in Congress and State Houses all across the country were stunning enough, it was the speed of the about-face that was astonishing and epic.
Just two years ago, Obama was hailed as a 21st-century Lincoln, the figurative progeny of FDR and JFK combined. The finest dramatic speech-maker since Sir John Gielgud dominated the Shakespearean stage.
The most gifted political orator since Winston Churchill and Martin Luther King. The long-awaited enlightened emperor who would soothingly heal rifts abroad, seamlessly ushering in a new era of social justice while effortlessly repairing a broken economy at home.

Our hapless president was outdone only by the excesses displayed by his wife. More diamond-studded belts and broaches and wear-only-once satin dresses and shopping bags bursting at the seams while two out of ten of her broke fellow Americans endure another day out of work waiting for the sheriff to serve foreclosure papers.

Absolutely, and that's what is different about this particular President. Certainly there have been media enthusiasms since JFK but this particular time the sense of "making history" with a regard toward a mixed-race President and a deep-seated antipathy toward Bush appear to have swept away all sense of responsibility and skepticism on the part of most of the media. And most are yet to recover, which is why the Tea Parties are such a mystery to them.
What we have as a result, as is becoming painfully obvious, is an actor playing the role of President. What we have here is a perfect model of diversity programs everywhere - a President with a portfolio of desirable external characteristics and very few of the actual abilities. But he can read a script. On the stage that's good enough. This is real life.

Last night on MSNBCs “Last Word with LO'D” Lawrence showed a poll that said Pelosi has a 9% approval rating with independents to two House liberals and asked them if it was time to step aside for the good of the D party, and they freaked out yelling at him. He asked “Could you stop the spin for a moment and just talk to me?” They blamed the Pelosi Democrat House losses on Obama for being too moderate and claimed that those that stuck with Pelosi on all issues won (of course, they were in safe seats stupid.) . Both LO'D and Matthews are signalling that the Pelosi wing may destroy Obama’s presidency.
That exchange shows what a political problem Obama has: If he compromises with Republicans to get independents back his liberal base will turn on him (the coming tax cut/extension is a great example, prepare for lots of liberal weeping and moaning.)
As I said earlier :
1) Motivate the Republicans base to vote
2) (De)motivate the Democrat base to not vote
3) Don't trust either party
A slight problem. That law would be unconstitutional.
Now I know that Barry and his merry band of commieRATS don't give a 'dang' about the U.S. Constitution, but we do.
But your idea IS GOOD. It just needs to be addressed and enacted by every state and territory. Then, it would pass constitutional muster. And iirc, about 12 States ARE writing and passing laws like that. But then we need every individual Secretary Of State and/or Election Board to enforce it.
Which here in IL (and other blue controlled states) will happen when pigs fly. Case in point: Rahm's ILLEGAL run for mayor of Chicago. He's already been 'deemed' a "resident of Chicago" by a RAT election commissioner.
In a perfect world Barry would have had to show his 'papers' when he ran for US Senate.

They could try to educate the black community about his fake black man credentials, but then they'd run the real risk they would stray off the DemocRAT plantation permanently.
