Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann dropped out of the race for House Republican Conference chair on Wednesday night, ensuring that the GOPs leadership elections will go on without any serious competition.
In a statement sent to a handful of reporters Wednesday evening, the tea party favorite said that Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling has her enthusiastic support for his candidacy for the top messaging post in the GOP.

You need to read post 132.
It isn’t Bachmann that is the problem on this one.
Its the establishment marginalizing the tea party - round 1.
You guys are forgetting the fact that the establishment has the seniority.
I doubt you would like it too much if the new guy at work suddenly gets promoted over you.
All you can do is keep an eye on the establishment and vote them out as they screw up.
I always love when you finally recognize that you’ve lost the debate, and put on your shark riding suit!
.
I answered your question.
Like when you claim that Phil Gramm doesnt know what it means to be American?
.
> “All you can do is keep an eye on the establishment and vote them out as they screw up.”
.
Yes, seems to be the way it has to go. - These machinations almost guarantee that the Republicans will be out again in 2012.
They just didn’t get the voters message.
( and the “clueless caucus” here on FR that support the country clubbers too)
.
Bachman is a smart cookie and knows strategery just as well a Palin and isn't afraid to employ it.
Bad strategery would have been to remain in the race for the leadership position and end up in a nasty divisive fight in which nobody would win.
She knew exactly what she was doing from the gitgo.
Keep the faith.

There ya go!
Gramm’s tricks cost us dearly little boy.
And post 132 answered post 131, so thank you.
Right, Phil Gramm destroyed America and doesnt know what it means to be an American.
No it didnt. It didnt address post 131 at all. Your post was that he cant be Tea Party because of an endorsement, regardless of everything he has done in Congress that is what the Tea Party wants.
You can have your symbolism. I will take my substance.
This may not have been her opportunity, but she will be heard and seen, and she will have a place in the sun.
The fight will be a long one, and Michele is NOT down for the count.
“No, this is not bad.
Hensarling is a solid conservative, one of the truly good guys. Bachmann isnt selling out. Hes worked for his term, hes on our side, and there are other battles to fight. We dont need one over leadership.”
Amen....and...AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Being number two or three has great advantages. Lots of room to manuver without the limelight. She is not a foolish woman and understands the political environment completely. Whatever reasons she has chosen to do this she would not have done so unless she stood to gain something greater by doing so....
In the House, she’s my leader and she has been a few years now. She’s got more guts and smarts than most anyone who has served in Congress in my time.
Gramm was one of the big nails in the coffin of the Republican senate majority.
Daschle loved him.
“To take over an organization, your people have to replace their people. “
You have to take over all of it otherwise they will take over you. Remember Joe Scarborough? He was one of the ‘94 Freshmen and look what happened to him.
Maybe she will be able to become Senator or Governor because she can speak her mind without having to be restrained by anyone.
