Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann dropped out of the race for House Republican Conference chair on Wednesday night, ensuring that the GOPs leadership elections will go on without any serious competition.
In a statement sent to a handful of reporters Wednesday evening, the tea party favorite said that Texas Rep. Jeb Hensarling has her enthusiastic support for his candidacy for the top messaging post in the GOP.

I think we did
Divide and conquer, sweet thing, and the dems will win again.
I like both candidates, one a smart young lady with a great public persona and well delivered ideas, the other a smart young man and great steward who administers our nations finances.
From a distance, because none made it through the front door.
Well sweet thing, you shut us out, but I don’t know if you can get things back to normal for your side of the fence.
Do they?
I’m not so sure. And Michelle doesn’t strike me as one to sit down and shut up on the back of the bus. And I doubt she will.
So in other words, you have no proof that he is not “Tea Party” and are using an endorsement as your sole justification against the man.
The reason conservatives had to ask who he is is because he has not been a glory hound or media member in the past. In fact, in 2008 he was supported for this role and stepped aside to let Mike Pence take it. Pretty much the same thing Bachman is doing.
I wish her well,, some glass ceilings are thicker than others..
Yes, Phil Gramm was a Soviet Spy!!!!!!
OH WOW! Thanks for telling me about your personal connection with him and his family. He has his work cut out and I think we need to support Michele Bachmann’s decision to support Jeb.
The last thing Michele Bachmann wants is for the democrats to find an opening and this could serve as one. Michele Bachmann is a team player and the TEAM IS TEA PARTY PATRIOTS. I think all of the Republicans in the House understand *that* much. They got their reinforcements from TEA PARTY CONSERVATIVES and “Taxed Enough Already” Independents.
Who the hell is Rep. Jeb Hensarling compared to Michelle Bachmann?
Exactly. The only reason people don't consider Hensarling part of the Tea Party movement is that he had already been elected. In terms of values, he is spot on with Tea Party positions.
If you want to claim your man as a tea party supporter then prove it, but so far they never heard of him, he never led, he didn’t try to get any elected, and the only time that we know that he was involved with them, it was to oppose them, and support the other side, even now he defeated a tea party leader for his leadership position, and was supported in that battle by the anti-tea party/anti-Palin leader, Cantor.
If you want to claim he is tea party, then show us.
Looks like women need apply for leadership in the GOP, or President for that matter. The good ole boy network still lives. And Palin and Bachmann will still have to battle them.

Sorry explorer 9 beta screwed me up, it did not tell me it posted, I need some of these erased.
LOL. I heard ya!
Well, she's leading a lot of FReepers around by their naughty bits....
I never claimed he was Tea Party, you claimed he wasnt. But, if you look at what he has done in the Congress:
The 2nd highest rated Congressman by the National Taxpayer Union
Authoring a Constitutional Amendment that says spending can not grow faster than the economy
Pressing for a moratorium on earmarks
Introducing the Taxpayer Bill of Rights
Authoring the Taxpayer Choice Act which would lower tax rates to 10% on incomes up to 100k
Telling Obama to his face that Obama is raising the budget per month the same rate Bush raised per year
Id say that is pretty damn Tea Party.
You need to read post 131.
