Hillary Clinton says Barack Obama can rebound by taking page from Bill Clinton's playbook

Secretary of State Clinton predicted today that President Obama will tame the new crop of Republican flamethrowers coming to Congress by taking a page from her husband's playbook.
Clinton, who has proclaimed loudly and often that she's out of politics now, got back into the game briefly to opine that Obama's strategy will look a lot like what former President Bill Clinton did after the Dems got thumped in the 1994 midterms.
"I’m absolutely confident he can do that," Clinton said on ABC's "Nightline" about the 2008 upstart who beat her for the Dem presidential nomination. The trick will be to make it look like he's moving to the middle while sticking to his agenda, Clinton said.
"I don’t think that Bill changed his principles or changed his objectives or really reversed course in any way," Clinton said. "I think what he did was take a very clear-eyed assessment of what was going to be possible with the Congress after the election, and moved on every front that he could to get things done."
"And I think that's what you'll see President Obama doing," she added, while acknowledging she can't predict how the new crop of Tea Party and GOP hardliners will react.
"I don't know, because I don't know them," Clinton said. "I’m going to get to know them."

I don’t think Barry would be too interested in Bill’s little black book.
Obama is an absolutist and will NOT cave on his agenda.
He will LIE about compromise, but the only thing that will change is the pace and the packaging.

Hillary offers this advice because she knows that Obama is both unwilling to take it and incapable of implementing such a strategy. She can be seen as “trying to help” while she watches Obama screw himself.

Nothing with the Clintons happens by coincidence or doesn’t end up benefiting them. Obama had better watch his back.
The difference is that Bill Clinton was one of the best politicians of the 20th century and Barack Obama is incompetent.

Yup... she’s saying in effect Obama isn’t like her husband. That isn’t an endorsement, that’s thinly veiled contempt. The subtext is he isn’t in her political league. Not even close.

Clinton is corrupt but he was very popular to the consternation of Republicans. They never figured out why.
Obama isn’t the same. He’s a one-trick political pony.
