"I am happy seeing people go out and showing that democracy has won," former President George W. Bush told Rush Limbaugh.
President Bush also tells Rush that he is absolutely not secretly against Sarah Palin, as it was reported last month.
Bush talks about his book "Decision Points," TARP, immigration policy and his post-presidency in an interview with Rush Limbaugh. The two also share a laugh over using the teleprompter.

Bush is a very humble person and appreciates the honor it is to be elected to the highest office. Obama has no appreciation for the position and constantly demeans it. The contrast could not be greater. Bush is a class act.

I'm occasionally critical of President Bush, but anyone who thinks this guy is some sort of idiot needs to listen to this interview. I'm sure that he and Rush had some sort of outline about what was to be discuss, but I doubt it was rehearsed. Honesty and careful reflection are what came through to me. The contrast with Hussein is striking.

It was good to hear his strong denial of the stories regarding him stating that Palin was a poor choice for VP. He was quite clear in that he strongly said that he didn’t say that nor would he say such a thing. Hopefully this puts to bed the stories that we have been subjected to for the past few days.

When Bush first was introduced he thanked Rush for a chance to talk about his book. Rush launched questions dealing with everything but the book although Bush kept trying to bring it back around to his book. Rush did good; no softball questions. I didn’t get the impression that there was an outline.

I feel sorry for those that fell for the Sarah Palin bashing by Bush. I knew he hadn't changed that much, the guy doesn't even bash his opponents.

Interview of GW Bush by Rush. Link in body of thread. Pinging to those from yesterday’s thread regarding Palin and ‘unnamed’ sources.

Hell, Bush doesn't even express his views on the UnAmerican Marxist Keynsian Kenyan, so why would he comment on Palin's qualifications?
It amazes me that there are FReepers who know so little about Bush's character.

You’re right but it seems to me that people overall are so pissed (pardon my french) about the situation we find ourselves in and combine that with their dislike of Bush, that they are ready to jump on anything negative about him. Many of us know that it’s absolutely not in his character to disparage someone and that has been reinforced by his interviews.
Hopefully the bash Bush threads are over.

It's important (imo) that we keep each other informed of the facts. I always appreciate it when FReepers ping to certain topics too.

I said the same thing and got bashed on a thread.
I did not agree with Bush on many things but I know he conducted himself honorably and the compassion and empathy he showed the military tells more about the man than any unnamed source in a hit piece. It is amazing how the media all parrot the storyline about the GOP elite fearing Palin. It seems like they are trying to create the impression in peoples minds that she is unelectable does’nt it?
Bush is the picture of civility to a fault even when his failure to defend himself angered many of us.
