Congressional analysis: Obama eligibility never was confirmed
WND ^ | NOVEMBER 8, 2010 | Jerome R. Corsi

A congressional document that has been posted on the Internet confirms no one – not Congress, not the states and not election officials – bothered to check Barack Obama's eligibility to be president, and in fact, that status remains undocumented to this day.

It's because state and federal law did not require anyone in Congress or elsewhere to check to see if Obama was a "natural born Citizen" under the meaning of Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution, according the document.

The analysis by the Congressional Research Service, a research arm of the U.S. Congress, openly admits no one in the federal government, including Congress, ever asked to see Obama's long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate. In fact, it explains no one was required to do so.

Technically, the CRS is a public policy research arm of the United States Congress that is organized as a legislative branch agency within the Library of Congress; the CRS works exclusively for members of Congress, congressional committees and congressional staff in an advisory capacity, answering questions.

Re: “Those born in the United States are uncontroversially natural born citizens.”

C,mon doc, even you don’t believe anchor babies are “natural born” citizens, eligible to serve as the President of the United States?

Yes, I do believe they are eligible, Beckwith. Does that make me happy? No. I despise for flouting our laws and I blame the government for not securing the border years ago. They have no right to be in this country. If their children were born here, however, then the children are United States citizens, same as you or me. The way to change it is what has been discussed: passing a constitutional amendment to prevent this problem from continuing. We can't retroactively revoke citizenship but if we were able to get this thing passed in the next decade (which I doubt), we'd at least get somewhat of a handle on the problem.

But yes, in sum, they are natural born citizens. The 14th is clear on that and it's why the federal immigration service will refuse to deport the child of an illegal immigrant who has been born here. It has happened before, where the illegal immigrant mother died in childbirth and the baby survives. The baby is a U.S. citizen, free to be adopted by U.S. parents. When that baby grows up, he or she will be eligible to run for president. If you share my view (and I suspect you do, given your post) that this serves as a reward for lawbreaking behavior, then work to amend the Constitution, because that's where we stand right now.

P.S. - I don’t want to just prevent the children of illegal immigrants from automatic U.S. citizenship, I want to prevent other people from obtaining it automatically as well. The only children born in this country that SHOULD automatically be considered U.S. citizens are children of at least one U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card). Children born to people here on vacation, student visas, H1B, Js, etc, should not become U.S. citizens simply due to their location of their birth. We have to be fair.

You identify yourself as an extreme leftist with your, “we have to be fair,” views, and a megalomaniac with your introductory, “I want...”

Nobody cares what you want.

Seriously though, we were having a conversation about what I believe. That’s what you asked me, so responding in kind with personal pronouns is hardly inappropriate. Stop projecting.

I would expect a physician to know what projection meant.

As far as the use of personal pronouns, in your post that I’m responding to you use four of them.

You evidently don’t understand “personal pronouns” either.

And no, I don’t care what you believe, because you are incorrect. Anchor babies can’t be president — even if it isn’t “fair” and offends your liberal sensibilities.

I said that it was hardly inappropriate for me to use personal pronouns, meaning that it is acceptable. Hardly inappropriate =|= appropriate . And, yes, you were projecting, because your post expressing disbelief about anchor babies actually being natural-born U.S. citizens was hardly normative. Obviously I'm going to use words like "should" and "want" when I'm expressing a personal viewpoint. I hate having to use the passive voice -- do you really want to read an entire post comprised of statements beginning with "it should be said that..."

I realize that my posts over the past couple of days have contained some pretty egregious spelling and grammatical errors. I don't believe in spell check and I've done two 12 hour moonlights since Monday, so I'm sorry if the posts aren't up to your lofty standards. Cut me some slack. Or don't.

Is it likely that an anchor baby will be elected President someday? No, but then again that isn’t the issue. It is possible because they are eligible to be elected to the Presidency once they reach age 35.

conservatives like Glenn Beck and Medved and Bill O’Reilly who are telling you to be quiet about it. Now why do you think that is?

They haven't been running their mouths about it lately, except for maybe Medved. O'Reilly who said he saw Obama's birth certificate? Oh Really? LoL! Your girl Medved is a disciple of Ron "Im a Commie" Dellums. He's one of those faux CONservative. And Beck, he's not running around anymore commenting about "Birthers." He has about shut up on the issue.

Oh, man. They aren’t leftist talking points, TigersEye. Leftists love the birther movement.

We see you're on Soros's payroll to spout nonsense.

They’ve shut up about it because they realize that the issue is getting even less attention now than it did last year. Why do you think that is?

I made at least a few dozen responses, and my first time posting on the birther issue was yesterday.

Retread, duplicate account or one of the new hired Obots gearing up to infiltrate FR and other sites to help Obongo in 2012. Take your pick. It’s one of the 3 for sure.

The Gullibles don’t question Obama’s eligibility. These trusting, naive, innocent folks believe it is crazy, and/or improper to question Obama. The easiest way to identify a Gullible is their complete lack of curiosity and cynicism in the face of the gazillion contradictions that are facts and circumstances of the life of Barack Obama.
