Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) cost the GOP control of the Senate, a powerful House Republican said.
Rep. Spencer Bachus (Ala.) said that Tea Party-backed candidates whom Palin endorsed underperformed against their Democratic rivals, costing the GOP key pickup opportunities.
"The Senate would be Republican today except for states [in which Palin endorsed candidates] like Christine ODonnell in Delaware," Bachus said at a local Chamber of Commerce event last week, the Shelby County Reporter wrote Sunday. "Sarah Palin cost us control of the Senate."
Bachus' is one of the most visible Republicans to criticize Palin for her political activity during this election season. Some Republicans have privately groused that Tea Party-backed candidates who were not electable prevented the GOP from taking control of the upper chamber.

I agree, but no one will run against him. He has been unopposed in both the primary and general for years.
It's not like he actually has a brain or gets anything significant done...he just coasts along and no one seems to care.
“and never endorsed Buck at all.”
um yeah i know i was just expanding on the list of candidates who disappointed in this election cycle. it was already pointed out to me that Angle was not endorsed by Palin.
my overall point here is not that Palin herself doomed the majority far as i can tell she may have cost 1 or 2 at the most. in general we need better candidates emerging from the primaries to capatilize on these winnable races
You have candidates like Angle and O’Donnell who the Tea Party supported and who lost. You have candidates like Rossi in Washington who the Tea Party didn’t support and who lost. And you have candidates like Rubio who the Tea Party supported and who won. I don’t think you can blame the Tea Party alone with failing to win the Senate.
Dear Rep. Spencer Bachus (Ala.): prepare for the most expensive primary challenge of your political career; and you may very well still lose.
The GOP is better off right were it is with the Senate. You’ve got a batch of red and purple state Dems up for election in 2012 and they’ll be in no mood to further the Obama agenda. On the other hand, the GOP couldn’t really get anything done there without more than 51 senators, so they’re best off not taking it back until 2012.
Sorry, that post wasn’t really directed at you, I was kind of thinking out loud in that post.
I’m trying to put together a rebuttal to all these attacks on Palin from the establishment politicians, post 95 points out how misleading their attacks are, and I have seen them throw Buck into the mix as a Palin loss.
No she didn’t but Harry Reid did.
No she didn’t but Harry Reid did.
This shows two things.
#1: Romney is a gutless coward using surrogates to attack
women of his own party as THEY are going after the DNC and Obama.
#2: Romney, already the mother of gay marriage and RomneyCARE,
now has two (2) elections featuring he and his surrogates backstabbing
GOP women. What a POS.
I attack any conservative GOP woman for my Master, Mitt Romney.

As for Alaska, the Dems as well as the Repub establishment piled on. The Alaska Murkowski gp HATE Palin, as she unseated Lisa's daddy as sitting gov. of Alaska. The Dems hate her because that is what Dems do. The meme is Sara is a quitter, but she is, in fact, a fighter, not a quitter.
Her resignation put a stop to the almost daily frivolous law suits against her and the state that took both personal and state time and finances to answer and kept anything from getting done for the state. She had a good conservative Lt. Gov. to take over and let him, giving him a chance to be the incumbent for the next election. Anyone calling her a quitter is a media thinker--takes the media narrative at face value.
She has a heck of a lot more experience than BO, is more articulate, and much better looking.--So she didn't go to Hahrvahrd or Yale. I am sick of that being a unstated requirement for office, as they are hotbeds of PC and "hate America" types.

RINO's want to reassert dominance after the shellacking they took in the primaries.
I thought you left this conservative tea party web site already.

Woo-hoo! Preach it, Jim! Tea Party Republican Patriots WON and we have to hold strong and better our numbers in 2012 so that we’re the cast. solid majority from coast to coast and all land in between! GO SARAH!
DMI, Sharron Angle was a mighty fine conversative candidate who was robbed by dirty Harry’s thug machine in Las Vegas which Rush announced was in action “on the ground” on election day doing its dirty deed, so don’t slam her here!
Christine O’Donnell won her debate with the Marxist Coons so he cancelled their two remaining debates. She was a great candidate running in solid blue Delaware!
This fossil incumbent RINO is age 62 and he’s griping about Sarah Palin and blaming her for “losing” the Senate? LOL. I’ll give him this much: at least he stepped out into the sunlight so we know his name. Shame on him! He’s in Alabama and he doesn’t “get it.”
ROVE-over and get the hell out of the way! WE’RE RIDING SUCCESS AND THERE’S NO STOPPING US NOW!
GO SARAH! GO TEA PARTY! PAY ATTENTION AND HEAR US GOP!
In 2007, Bachus made trades with a number of short term stock options, betting that stocks would rise or fall for a quick profit or loss. Bachus made up to $160,000, including a bet in March that the stock market would drop that earned him between $15,000 and $50,000. Most members of Congress hold some stocks or mutual funds, but Bachus’ rapid-fire trades are unusual for a leading member of Congress, particularly one with the key role of ranking member of the House Committee on Financial Services.
That’s says it all!
Spencer Bachus is a ROMNEY BOT!
No wonder he slammed Sarah Palin today!!!
no problem
i probably should have clarified
take care
LOL. Look what Diogenesis found!
