One of my pet peeves is the misguided belief that Robin Hood took from the rich and gave to the poor when the truth is that the people were poor because a greedy government had taxed them into poverty.

WHEN is the revolution? WHEN are people going to stand up and SAY NO and MEAN IT. Not just elect a couple of new people?

The US out of the UN. Noted that the POS in the Whine House when he was a senator wanted a Global Intiative whereby the american people would pay a tax that would redistribute wealth to the poor around the world. NO Global Initiative. Look at Rick Warren and Saddleback Community Church he is a part of the UN’;s Global Peace Plan and the Global Initiative is just a part of it. This is the idea to develop a One World Government.

G20 Leaders Urged To Back ‘Robin Hood’ Tax is simply translated into:

Spreading more of America’s wealth will make the world a better place.

Obama must have gotten a tingle down his leg when the Robin Hood Tax was announced.

Your usual Leftist NGOs seeking to capture money transfers offshore to “spread the wealth around.”

It's worse than that. Once the get that, they can up the tax to high levels so that no-one can vote with their feet. Then, lib/socialist countries can tax as much as they like and no-one can escape to low tax countries.

I don't think these people understand the story of Robin Hood very well.

Robin Hood stole from the Government and gave to the poor. (After expenses of course.)

There is absolutely no end to ‘good ideas’ on how to spend OTHER PEOPLE’S Money! (Remember Baron Thatcher’s dictum on Socialism!)

The socialists realize that socialism is dead unless it can suck the blood of the remaining productive economies.

Except, Robin Hood is a fictional character ... ok, so there are a few possible historical truths in the myths somewhere, but I wouldn’t get too hung up on it.

wow.

They say they want to “stabalize” and help the economy “recover” and to do this they need a MASSIVE UN TAX.

lol.

There is no authority for this and it is unconstitutional too.

In principle its a good idea

In principle it is a plot straight from Hell. Look at the character and track records of those who propose it. Reprobates all.

However, would the government repeal the tax as soon as the deficit was paid before revising the monetary system to go back on a new gold standard?

I am sure you can point to the many times in history when tyrants voluntarily entered into sound fiscal policy.

Riddle me this, if confiscation of money from the Producers to the Administrators is such a great idea that it will pull everyone up and make everyone prosperous, why on earth would anyone want to return to a Free Market economy where money flows to its most efficient use?

Clearly an army of corrupt bastards making every macro market decision is far superior than the trillions of micro decisions made at the ground level.

I'm assuming that you are government school educated, explains your faith in the inherent honesty, selfless benevolence and omniscience of our Betters despite all of the empirical evidence to the contrary

No, it’s not a good idea in any way, shape, or form. The best solution for developing the third world (or even the second) is NOT to hand over money, but to get our own house in order so that our economic growth will be the tide that raises and other ships in the water. This is nothing more than a continuation of the liberal calls (climate change? oh, please) to pay those who can’t and won’t — and as we see, the only true beneficiaries are those in power: NOT those actually in need.

“Why does America continue to associate with countries who would be all too happy to implement a one world government? We need to dismantle the United Nations ASAP, and try its representatives from Socialist and Islamist hellholes as war criminals.”

This needs to echo throughout the chambers of Congress day in and day out.

The only accountability the UN has is to its dependency on member state contributions. Allowing them an independent source of income would the greatest disaster that mankind has ever seen.

The creation of the federal income tax is what caused the US federal government to grow to its current size.

If the UN gets an independent source of income, expect the next stage to be the UN getting its own armed forces to impose its will.

....Robin Hood fought against high taxes....

He stole from the government and gave the money back to the impoverished taxpayers.
The governments are getting richer while the taxpayers are getting poorer.
