The GOP's Sarah Palin problem
Wash Post ^ | 11/5/10 | Michael Gerson

At their new political high-water mark, Republicans have plenty of reasons to celebrate - and at least one large cause for worry.

On Election Day, voters shattered the Obama agenda of expanded public benefits and increased income tax progressivity, leaving the president to reassemble his goals with glue and tape. During this midterm cycle, Republicans became reacquainted with estranged friends: independents, seniors, college-educated voters, working-class voters, rural voters and suburban voters. The Republican Party will benefit from the infusion of diverse, attractive new leaders, including some, such as Florida Sen.-elect Marco Rubio, with Tea Party pedigrees.

They sure did ramp up the attacks on Sarah as soon as the election was over.

I think many of her supporters think she’s done that already. And walked on water the entire way.

The ignorance and churlishness of posts like yours is amazing.

“The guy sitting in the White House,” says Tancredo, is a greater threat to the Constitution than al-Qaeda. “

Calm down Michael Gerson. Look at this this way. If Osama Bin Laden were in the White house, he would be a greater threat to the Constitution than Barak Obama.

After Obama, there is no way America will elect a candidate with no experience. Hopefully Sarah realizes she is not yet ready for the job and puts her country before her own ambitions.

Gerson is a republican. One of Bush’s top advisers for awhile

But, if my memory serves me right, he has already proved himself to be one of the Progressive Elites of the GOP by his previously stated positions, right?

Yeah, she’s a real problem. She campaigned for something like 130 candidates and something like 110 of them actually won. The GOP could use about 100 more ‘problems’ just like her.

This former Bush aide takes a swipe a DeMint too, but Sarah is his target.

LOL. He’s another big-tent RINO worried about Mama Grizzly.

Tough!

In WA State, we were force fed the “establishment candidate”. And he still lost. Again. Just like I figured he would.

Sarah is one big reason the GOP has a majority in the House, and a big reason the GOP picked up Senate seats.

Not only that, but I heard somewhere that not a single elected republican promised a single earmark while campaigning. Not sure on what level. It might have just been among Senators or something. But still, that's got to be huge.

Another Jackass parroting the Left-Wing media and the Progressive Elites in the GOP.

Is that you Karl?

BTW, how much representative experience, from a national perspective did Abraham Lincoln have before he became President?

Two years as a US Congressman.

How much executive experience did Abraham Lincoln, you know, the guy who started the GOP, have before he became President?

Zero!

When offered the position of secretary or governor of the Oregon Territory, he turned it down.

Do you know why?

Because, The territory was a Democratic stronghold and acceptance would have ended his legal and political career in Illinois, so he declined.

Because he took the long view of his career and realized that taking that position would have hindered his effectiveness and also, how far he could go.

Now, do I really have to connect the dots for you here?

If you live there I can understand your education problem with the rest of America. Outside of that. Heck No.
