NEW YORK, NY Former recent Delaware senatorial candidate and Tea Party favorite Christine O'Donnell took a bold stance in a pointed interview on NBC's Today Show.
Host Meredith Veiera challenged Ms. O'Donnell with a litany of tough questions, asking if Sarah Palin failed her and if Ms. O'Donnells principled campaign cost the GOP seats in her election and others down ballot. Undaunted, O'Donnell fired back at the Delaware and national GOP establishment with the truth behind the campaign.
O'Donnell explained how GOP insiders maneuvered to undermine her campaign from day one. According to O'Donnell, the beltway political class joined forces with the Delaware GOP to silence the voice of the people. In O'Donnells view, it was not her insistence on principle which caused her loss, but the refusal of the political ruling class to fully support her, who could not forgive O'Donnell for soundly defeating their hand-picked, establishment candidate - Mike Castle - in the primary, O'Donnell continued. Castle never did endorse O'Donnell upon her win, which is an unusual public rebuke, even after a rancorous primary.
Without party backing, O'Donnells campaign claims they had to build the get out the vote effort from scratch in just six short weeks, ultimately costing her the election. O'Donnell told Veiera, however, the backroom machinations went much farther. Washington D.C. political insiders undermined her campaign, including Karl Rove, Vice President and former Delaware Senator Joe Biden, and according to some even the White House.
Faced with such powerful foes, O'Donnell remained committed to what she described as "giving a voice to the voiceless." Standing up for the political interests of everyday Delawareans, like the farmers and workers who make the state great. She concluded the interview, assuring Delaware that she will continue her fight to represent small government, lower taxes, and the traditional values that make America strong.
She did fantastic.
Now not only is there CES and PES but now O'ES
It seems to be incurable even when a Tea Party Conservative does a good job exposing the treacherous (to our Constitutional Republic) establishment GOP
Of course, this basic principle of the Constitution has been ignored for quite a long time, and it was Chris Coons who was making this very point (and it went WHOOSH! over Miss O'Donnell's head). Interpretation and amendment of the Constitution has occurred since its ratification, and Mr. Coons said that he would honor those interpretations and amendments.
It would have been nice to hear Miss O'Donnell reply that she also would respect the Law, Constitution, Judiciary, and Administration, but point out that her job as a Senator would be to take actions to change those laws.
She didn't even follow the topic of discussion, but instead just kept interrupting and demonstrated how little she understood. :-(
I suggest that anyone who supports her on this should actually go watch the video of it, and note that she was right at first, but then got stuck there while the conversation got more specific. I
There is only one thing worse than a career politician. And that's a career "losing" wannabe politician.
And that is a keyboard kowboy pontificating from a biased point of view agitating discord amongst conservatives.
Full Blown O'ES.
Too bad the Party elite didn't have that attitude towards Castle when she beat him in the primary. She may have had a chance.
Get out of yout parent’s basement Liberal. You repeat the lame stream Soetoro fluffer press talking points word for word. The problem is YOU, LOSER ... not COD. Get the f’ out of the way.
The notion of “professional candidates” being a bad thing is ridiculous if the alternative is to simply let the “winners” keep winning.
Barney Frank and his cohorts in the Democrat Party have done a lot of serious damage to our national Economy.
They get there because they are largely supported by folks who are counting on completely unsustainable models for their retirement while simultaneously giving the finger to the next generation (some not even born yet.)
Barney Frank is a horrible candidate and a despicable human being in so very many categories.
If being a good” candidate means you have Union bosses, liberal media, and a bunch of mindless liberals voting in lock step because that is what their parents did, then I suppose that he is a “good candidate.”
Christine O'Donnell would have made a terrific Senator despite the inflated criticisms of her faults and most Americans are quite aware of that,
He raised record amount of money in this election, like it or not he isn’t going anywhere. Every party in every state has it’s own political machine in place and no one dare run before the machine determines it is their time or the machine will destroy them.

Thomas Jefferson, as president, wrote a letter to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut on 1802-JAN-1. It contains the first known reference to the "wall of separation". The essay states in part:
"...I contemplate with solemn reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church and State..."
During the 1810's, President James Madison wrote an essay titled "Monopolies" which also refers to the importance of church-state separation. He stated in part:
"Strongly guarded as is the separation between religion and Government in the Constitution of the United States, the danger of encroachment by Ecclesiastical Bodies may be illustrated by precedents already furnished in their short history."
The US Supreme Court has interpreted the First Amendment as if it requires this "wall of separation" between church and state. It not only prohibits any government from adopting a particular denomination or religion as official, but requires government to avoid excessive involvement in religion.
Wouldn’t she do better if she moved to another state where the people are more open-minded? I don’t know what state though.
Ya, he raised the money before he want on and trashed Tea Party candidates, his days as a king maker are over, he is part of the old school we need to get out of our party. Trust me, he will have far less influence, if any, in 2012, and what power he has he will use against the likes of Sarah Palin, so after 2012, he’s going to hated every bit as much as Nancy Pelosi.
Campaign discipline is critical to winning. The Dems get an automatic break from the MSM, but conservatives know this.
You have to stay focused and on message. Gaffes kill campaigns.
I suggest that conservatives take campaigning courses from the Leadership Institute.
They’re great and they cost next to nothing. For young people they’re free IIRC.
Did she lack integrity when she came in 3rd place in the 2006 primary and refused to support the GOP nominee (running an independent campaign)?
It takes someone with strong character to support the winner of a primary. If she did not come out supporting the GOP nominee, I would be disappointed. She did have the gumption to run again, and deserved the full support of all GOP'ers.
The funny thing is, the more voters learned about her, the worse she did.
How many folks knew of her a couple of years ago? She got more votes then than she did in 2010--despite $4,000,000.
