Blowback to the political donation is immediate, and shocking.
Statement from Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC:
I became aware of Keiths political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay.

That gave me a tingle up my leg!
You're kidding, right? His replacement is either going to be Shuster, Crist, or Grayson.
Dangerously stupid, maybe...
Omigod!!!!!can it be true??? My prayers have been answered...please don’t let me wake up and find out it was a dream!!!!!!!!!
What a great week this has been!! First 65 Dem politicians, now a raving Commie lunatic. The sales of champagne must be soaring!!! :D
Nah, that would be Chrissie.
Fine, but you overlook the fact that Olberman sees himself as an “objective journalist”. All of those idiots on PMSLSD claim to be “fair” in their coverage. It’s kind of funny, actually.
I watched them for a little while Tuesday night to see them squirm. It was okay for a bit, but it quickly got old. Michelle Bachman and Eric Cantor each gave them a pretty good kick in the ass.
Wait a minute, wait a minute here..NBC has ethical standards?
I would of bet against it yesterday... It's strange, but looks like it could be true.
You just said the issue is Keith Olberman's objectivity. That's like saying there is an issue of whether Adolf Hitler was aggressive toward other countries.
On a more serious note, it actually would be very plausible for a cable news network to come up with a lineup which could fair well against the FOX prime timers (who are getting a little stale, IMO).
However, I don’t look for PMSLSD to put anything but lib shills on the air— doomed to fail.
I knew Comcast was trying to buy NBC Universal.
I didn't understand MSNBC was part of the deal.
I didn't realize that MSNBC was part of the Comcast-NBC Universal deal.
Another question...
Does Microsoft still own an 18% share of MSNBC?
Steve Ballmer is a well known Conservative (except on the issue of H1B foreign work visas for MSFT).
Three watched twice.
I agree with you there. Everyone on Fox News has been there for over a decade. They are the ones who beat CNN (MSNBC doesn't count.) There could rise a channel that beats Fox. But it would take a while and a lot of $$$.
And I thought the day couldn’t get any better after Pelosi said she was going to run for Minority Leader.
ok...let me get tied up first to the whipping post:
a) A business has a right to have a policy on this for employees as it sees fit...even though the business itself does the opposite
b) as much as I loathe Olbermann I just don’t find this such a big deal that an admitted leftist pundit donates to fellow travelers...doesn’t bother me at all
there...but I do get satisfaction seeing Olbermann squirm
I beg to differ....nowhere have I ever seen Olberman claim to be objective..... for that matter MSLSD has about given up that charade compltetely which makes this ridiculous to me...especially while Jeff Immelt loaded up Obama with cash....Matthews on occasion feigns objectivity but that kind of sounds stupid next to "tingling"
Interesting, I guess. A terrrribbbbble time for the DUmmies. They got smoked in the elections, lost some of their long time faves (and their shorter time faves, such as Grayson), and now they’ve lost their chief spokesman for their delusional rhetoric. Another good day, indeed!
