Blowback to the political donation is immediate, and shocking.
Statement from Phil Griffin, President of MSNBC:
I became aware of Keiths political contributions late last night. Mindful of NBC News policy and standards, I have suspended him indefinitely without pay.

these activities jeopardize his or her standing as an impartial journalist Yeah, we all thought of K-O as an "impartial journalist" until now.

This was the funniest part of the article, I thought (emphasis mine):
"Anyone working for NBC News who takes part in civic or other outside activities may find that these activities jeopardize his or her standing as an impartial journalist because they may create the appearance of a conflict of interest," it says.

Olbermann deserves to be suspended and then fired. On election night he sat there with Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell, snickering while Chris Matthews tried to embarrass Michele Bachmann. There is no Republican that the goofballs at MSNBC don’t like to make fun of.
Good riddance!

true, it’s a stoopid rule -— I’d rather MSMfreaks be up-front about their political affiliations than hide them, and no one could mistake the Olberdoofus for an objective fact-oriented reporter anyway -— he wore his raging drooling political affinities on his sleeve, on-air, all the time
he provided millions of dollars worth of propaganda for leftists, even if the substantive value was not much he was a continuous infomercial for lefties
given that NBC has the rule it ought to be enforced, but I’m not sure it’s at all a sensible rule for “opinion” talking heads

The candidates Olbermann donated to had mixed results. Conway lost his race to Tea Party-backed Republican Rand Paul, but both Grijalva and Giffords lead in tight races that CBS News has not yet projected.
All three appeared on Olbermann's show, and Grijalva has appeared multiple times.Where do we get the idea that MSNBC is a shill for the democrats?

What a joke. This guy never made any pretense about being impartial. Why should he be fired for funding candidates it’s clear he is partial towards.

I guess that soon-to-be-ex-Congressman Alan Grayson won’t have to wait long for his primetime show.
