My Opponent Homeschools Her Children
Rardin for Kansas ^ | 11/1/2010 | Democrat State Rep. Gene Rardin

Posted on 11/05/2010 10:03:31 AM PDT by Qbert

If you are not aware of this, you should be, before you vote.  I taught in SM Schools and support funding for a strong public education system. I demonstrated my belief by attending SM Schools as did both of my children.

Amanda Grosserode does not understand the importance of our public schools and has demonstrated that lack of understanding by withdrawing her own children from public schools in favor of home schooling.

We use the Seton Home School for our kids. It tends to have fairly traditional curriculum.

I can only imagine what they are using in the public schools these days. It was bad enough when I was in school.

Um, I never equated ‘murder’ and ‘public school.’
I was replying to someone who had quoted someone who had.
Hence the ‘>’ marks; to keep track of where in the conversation things were.

The stuff that passes for text books now is awful.

Altogether apart from bogus content (and there’s tons of that) you will see images/pictures on EVERY page.

Maybe that is good for young children, but NOT for older students.

As a young student, I knew the books with all the cutesy pictures were for ‘kids’. I still remember going into the library as a gradeschool student and asking for the books that ‘don't have pictures’.

The librarian called my mother to tell her what I asked for. (it was a small town)

My mother told her to give me whatever I wanted in that library.

"Amanda Grosserode completely understand the public school system, but because she actually values education, she homeschools her children."

Government establishment of education cannot be allowed, the same as government establishment of religion, and for much the same reason.

Wow. How is this getting to gun laws? Your trying to prove I don’t think for myself by posting a gun question? Nonetheless...

Yes the school zone law is violating your right.

I didn’t mean to imply it was your position - was more or less agreeing with you, and tacking on further opinions.

I should have mentioned the source of the quote, though, so it didn’t look like your quote; sorry.

My 13-year-old daughter nearly wet herself and had to run out of the room!

“You are mentally ill.”

Maybe. Doesn’t matter. I’m right.

There are plenty of FReepers who can attest to the horrific conversion of their children from humanity into inhumanity. It can happen to anyone.

Don’t have kids! Ever!

It is far better for a child to be brutally murdered than to be transformed into a mindless leftist monster. There are things worse than death. It would better for their throats to be cut instead of their souls.

It depends. Diagrams and pictures are very important for math and science. Especially for biology and geology.

Glad my parents didn't take this approach with me. Wow.

Not saying that should be done only that it would be better.

So true. I remember the most consulted school resource being an issue of National Geographic in the cloak room in 5th grade. Amazing how that issue was found out of all the others on the cloak room shelf.

So if they go to public schools, there is no chance for them?

Love it when the opposition pays for positive advertising for our side. I would have voted for Amanda for sure as soon as I heard this. Just like when the Dems tell me who wants to get rid of Social Security, and I run right out and vote for them.
