Ex-President George W. Bush rips wisdom of Barack Obama, Sarah Palin and John McCain to friends

WASHINGTON - Two years of retirement haven't dulled George W. Bush's political zest - and President Obama and Sarah Palin are among his under-the-radar targets.

The 43rd President has told friends the ex-Alaska governor isn't qualified to be President and criticizes Arizona Sen. John McCain for putting Palin on the 2008 GOP ticket and handing her a national platform.

"Naming Palin makes Bush think less of McCain as a man," a Republican official familiar with Bush's thinking told the Daily News.

"He thinks McCain ran a lousy campaign with an unqualified running mate and destroyed any chance of winning by picking Palin."

It boggles my mind when folks say that Sarah Palin isn’t qualified.

She’s 10 times more qualified than our CURRENT President. She was back during that race!

She’s RUN a business. She’s been GOVERNOR of a state, for goodness sake. Sure beats the heck out of a ‘community organizer’ resume!

And the ONLY thing I’ve ever liked about John McCain was his choice of VP in 2008.

It must a couple of years away for G.W. Bush to be remembered as “a hero of the democrat party”.. by DEMOCRATS..

If W didn’t make these statements, or doesn’t want his thoughts made public, it will be easy enough for him to refute it all. He’s now publicizing his new book and doing interviews so the opportunities to correct it are many.

The man who gave us Medicare Part D, and tried to give us Amnesty and never met a Democrat budget that he didn’t like, should probably just shut up and build houses beside Jimmy Carter.

Conversely, if it weren't for McCain we would have never heard of Sarah Palin.

After reading most of this thread, the infighting of the GOP has already started!

It's less than 2 years from the 2012 elections. We better get united rather than divided or we will see Obama reelected.

Obama didn't seem particularly upset with the losses in Congress. He has been working on his reelection since his nomination. Watch out for the Trojan Horse!

Bush wasn’t a bad President. However for many reasons I was disappointed when he originally got the nomination...
You can see that sentiment in my screen name, and the date that I created it.
...I had forgotten that up to now.
Yeah . . .

Jeb is NO Rino...I am so sick of seeing his word/

What is a Rino?

What is a pure conservative?

Please explain....I'll bet it is one issue, immigration...it should be “illegal immigration” you are worried about.

I for one come from immagrants..Italy

Did all of you one this board that complain about legal immagration, (you don't seem to know the difference) come over on “the Mayflower”

Maybe he’s right, afterall when Palin ran for Vice President, the only office she had held before the start of the campaign was in the State Senate and she won that election by getting her opponent disqualifed from the ballot. She had zero executive experience and had never even run a major state agency, she attended a racist church for twenty years and openly admitted to seeking out Marxists and having a Marxist mentor. She also wrote a book chock full of racist quotes and tidbits.

Oh, wait that wasn’t Palin that was Obama and I’m sure Bush and every major media talking head in the country considered him very qualified. By any objective standard, Palin would be a political rock star, if she would only start spouting neo-marxist liberal platitudes. But since she is a rock-ribbed conservative, she will be called a dunce (Like Reagan before her). And even though she is much more articulate than Obama, she will be compaired to the orally challenged G.W. Bush and the left and the RINO’s will line up to say she lacks “Gravitas” like they did for Bush II. And the only reason they get away with it is because we let them.

I think I'll wait for Bush to confirm or deny this before I jump the gun.

Doesn't pass the smell test. Sounds more like an "anonymous" Rove backstabbing.

Rove. Exactly. He doesn’t like Sarah himself. I can’t stand that man. And if GW thinks like this, likewise him.

It wasn't illegal to come over on the Mayflower at the time. And we didn't have a welfare state at the time. If everyone that crossed the border had to sink or swim on his or her own, it might be a different story. But since new poor immigrants line up for tax payer dollars and then vote for more tax payer dollars, illegal immigration is a threat to the country in a manner that past waves of legal immigration have never been.

I do not believe this drivel for one second.

Put a name with the so called SOURCE close to GW and I'll reconsider.

This is more of the rumor wind mill that is trying to destroy Sarah before she gets off the ground. We just had a similar article from politico last week, UNSOURCED and pure hogwash.

This is coming from New York-the daily news. Know nothing about um but without a name-this should be thrown in the trash until we can put a FACE to a source so called close to GW.

I don't think GW would EVER state that John McCain did a terrible job with his campaign. He has never been outspoken since he left office regarding crap like this. EVER. He has been dignified and quiet and has NEVER placed blame.

The papers are in a fit over the Republican wins and their reporters NEED to get Sarah. It is the most fun target around.
