A woman was arrested late Tuesday after she shot at a Dallas officer who was investigating a home invasion staged earlier that night on the same street by three robbers dressed as police.
Josefina Lira, 27, told investigators she thought the robbers had returned to her Pleasant Grove neighborhood.
Lira faces a felony deadly conduct charge for shooting at Dallas police Detective Donald Randle as he drove in the 9400 block of Limestone Drive near North St. Augustine Drive about 11:45 p.m., police documents said.A bullet struck the right front passenger door of the unmarked police car Randle was driving. He drove away and called for additional officers, police said.
After she started shooting, Lira called 911, police said. Officers told her to put away her weapons. Lira was arrested and she gave officers consent to search her house, in which they found a handgun and an SKS rifle, the documents said.
Lira was being held at the Dallas County Jail on Wednesday in lieu of $1,500 bail.

Even in Texas, I don’t think you’re allowed to shoot at people who are just driving down the street, cops or not.
Welcome to Pleasant Grove.

Yeah, that’s not considered very neighborly. Even here. Bad guys dressing up as cops is fairly popular, though.
Stupid cop, almost criminal behavior on his part.
Theives dress as cops rob a place.
Cops arrive in civilian cars to investigate.
HOW STUPID IS THAT?
He should have had his lights on, minimum precaution.
People might think it was break or quitting time for the Police if they used their lights. :0)
Rapist have used “police lights” in my area to stop women at night.
“they found a handgun and an SKS rifle,”
At least the writer didn’t call it an SKS machine gun or assault rifle.
Or call it an AK-47 assault rifle.
If I was a woman and a cop in a unmarked car tried to pull me over at night it wouldn’t happen. I’d put on my emergency flashers and continue driving until I got to a business that was open; a gas station, fast food store, restaurant or something with customers who could see what was happening. Then and only then would I come to a stop for questioning.
There is a small Louisiana town between me and I-20 that always has a cop car posted at night. The officer got very angry when my wife drove to a safe location. He probably lost some money when he had to spend time following her. :0)
If he expressed his anger to your wife, she should call the watch commander and complain. Remind him about “Protect and Serve”.
We don’t tilt at windmills. It is a very small town using traffic tickets as a prime source of revenue.
This “public servant” sits and waits at a speed limit sign that is very close after a sharp right turn. If you are going the posted legal speed in the country, you almost have to panic brake to get below the speed limit of 45 mph before passing the sign.
I remember seeing a sign on private property warning about a cop spot 1/2 mile ahead. It was either in NE TX or SE OK. I asked about it and the guy who put it up would move it to keep up with where the cops would hideout. He got legal permission from the property owners and there was nothing the cops could do about it.
I don’t think that would be allowed in the Pelican State. A lot of the traffic in the area of the speed trap is from out of State.
The officials tried to get his sigh taken down too but the judge used common sense when he said it served the same purpose as the cops did, slowed the traffic. The fact that it wasn’t sunk into the ground had some bearing, I don’t recall what.
