SALT LAKE CITY -- American Airlines flight 1476, from Portland to Dallas, was diverted to the Salt Lake International Airport because of an "unruly" passenger.
The flight landed at Salt Lake International around 1:15 Thursday afternoon.
John Heller, a passenger on the flight, tells KSL the "unruly" passenger wanted to use the restroom before the flight left Portland, but a flight attendant told him he had to wait until after take-off.
Once the flight was in the air, the passenger apparently used the restroom three to four times and that raised suspicions. Passengers nearest to him alerted the flight attendant that they were uncomfortable with what they were seeing.
The flight attendant advised the pilot of the situation and that's when the pilot decided to make an emergency landing in Salt Lake City.....

"Unruly"
Boy, if you get the “runs” on a flight these days, it makes the national news.
Let’s not jump to conclusions here. It could have just been a bad case of the runs. Lord knows I have been close to “unruly” when the lower end is boiling like a volcano ready to explode.
I’d like to see more information before I start pontificating.
Let’s describe the passenger a bit. Tall, 25, arab descent, walks like he’s got cr** (or a bomb) in his pants...
Was the passenger a mooslimb?
I wish they would dispense with the bs PC. The man had to be middle eastern or no-one would have been nervous about someone having bathroom problems on a flight.
How old was the guy?
Perhaps the prostate came into play here.
This probably wasn’t terrorism. I was on a flight with an Alzheimer’s patient once who kept demanding to go to the bathroom, refusing to sit down, and completely ignoring his poor wife, who was obviously escorting him to a facility elsewhere. Then he started screaming “you’re all going to die,” and some guy (obviously an air marshall) got up and dealt wth it.
The man was combative and actually was a security threat in his own way. Believe me, he would have charged the cockpit in a second and his elderly wife was not going to be able to restrain him.
This did hold up the flight for a bit until they removed him...

Better yet..having the runs on a flight gets you labeled as ‘unruly’. Dollars to donuts the man was middle eastern and that is why everyone got nervous..as well they should have.

It’s when there’s absolutely NO description of the passenger, that I get concerned.
I don’t know and the FBI is not talking.
And the FBI wouldn’t still be searching the plane.
These days a description of the passenger could result in a lawsuit.
