OK, the elections over, and the message from most voters was that they didnt care much for President Obamas agenda. Now the focus is on the race for the presidency in 2012.
On the Republican side, its a dead heat between the ex-governors Mitt Romney of Massachusetts, Mike Huckabee of Arkansas and Sarah Palin of Alaska, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely GOP Primary voters.
Asked who they would vote for if the Republican presidential primary were held today, 20% say Romney, 19% Huckabee and another 19% Palin. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
Romney and Palin are tied among male GOP voters, while Huckabee has a slight edge among female voters.
In October 2009 when Likely Republican primary voters were given a choice of five potential presidential nominees, Huckabee led with 29% support, followed by Romney with 24% of the vote and Palin at 18%.
Rounding out the list of seven candidates chosen by Rasmussen Reports for the question, with their levels of support, are former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (13%), Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty (6%), Texas Congressman Ron Paul (5%) and Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels (3%). Seven percent (7%) prefer some other candidate, and eight percent (8%) are undecided.

The survey of 1,000 Likely Republican Primary Voters was conducted on October November 1, 2010 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.
Romney, Pawlenty, Mitch Daniels, Ugh..
No more Anointed candidates!..
It all comes down (IMHO) as to which of these candidates has shown they have the BIGGEST COJONES in taking on the socialist agenda!
Pence and Rubio
PALIN-JINDAL 2012!.................
Meanwhile...., Mitt, Paws, Huck, all lay in the tall grass until it’s time to “RUN”!
This is why democrats think there is still hope for Obama.
RUBIO/DEMINT/PALIN!!!!.....forget Mitt, Huckabee!!
Rubio?
Who, in their right mind would elect a freshman senator who hasn’t finished his first term and only served in his state’s legislature..........uh....oops, nevermind................
LOL ... Good one!
LOL
...and no community organizer experience.
Huckabee....GO AWAY!
The State-Run-Media will begin the push for RHINO ROMNEY from now until 2012. He’s their boy, and always has been.
The CONSERVATIVES will pick their own and it will not be some RINO hypnotized by MSM poll numbers.
If the nomination starts down that path we will see George Stephanopoulos splashed all over TV telling us what a "great night xxxx xxxxxx is having" . . . AGAIN.
This time it is going to be one of us, not the anointed "moderate" sacrificial looser of the communists choosing.
.
Pathetic!
We have to start a search of our own - Right here on FR.
Sarah Palin is clearly the first choice of many. She has survived massive media murder attempts. She may very well survive FReepers who dismiss her as having no gravitas.
So, Marco Rubio is the new, fresh prince.
But caution and wisdom here: No-one with less experience than BO should be contemplated; even as VP.
Huckster is an entertainer - Romney is too left- Santorum just smiles a lot- Ron Paul is nuts -Haley Barbour missed his turn- Jindal not enough experience/exposure - Everyone over 70 is too old.
Where are you Mrs/Mr. President and who are you????
When we find the perfect candidate - it must be kept top secret so the media cannot destroy him/her.
You hit the best Trifecta!
I don’t want Romney or Huckabee anywhere near the race. They are not what we need.
If the GOP goes with one of them, the social conservatives will stay home or vote third party enough to allow the left to win, just as in 2008.
But if that happens, the populace will continue to move right as they groan under the socialist policies of the left.
As prosperity is not the highest priority for social conservatives, this strategem works very well.
Got that right.
You gotta shuck a lotta oysters to find a pearl..................
