Qantas has one of the most amazing safety records in the industry...they’ve never lost a jet aircraft or jet passenger, and their last fatal crash was fifty-nine years ago.

I just read elsewhere they're finding debris.
Batam Island is about 20km offshore Singapore, and the Quantas jet would have been preparing to land at the time, I suspect.
I have to admit I'm thinking bomb or SAM at this point.
