While the country made a sharp turn to the right, giving the GOP the House in a landslide, CA has moved MORE to the LEFT, if thats possible. Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown as the next Gov, with a Dem Assembly, AND Prop 25 passed, which only requires a simple majority to pass a budget. CA is doomed, and will soon fall into the Pacific. I predict CA bankruptcy before 2012. Truly a land of fruits and nuts.
Except a lot of folks who are leaving are fed up conservatives.
How stupid can people be? Don’t those dolts realize that it’s liberalism that’s killing that state? The thought of bailing them out will make alot of people angry including myself and I don’t want our taxes bailing out a state that has such idiots in it!
I’m surprised no one is even mentioning Nancy pelosi STILL has a job, albeit in SF and not in Washington anymore. The elected nuts in California will turn it into more turf for the Mexican drug cartel.
don’t you mean Pornifornia, or Mexifornia
agreed!
Sometimes you have to burn the field before you replant ...
I was born here and this is were I have lived all my life except for a few months here or there.
Last night’s election has put the final nail in the coffin of a once magnificent state. It makes me weep.
As a California native who lived under the previous Brown regime, I am shocked and saddden by the sheer stupidity of those who now call themselves Californians. Please, DON’T EVEN THINK of moving to Texas.....I took the last slot!!
Psst. Pass the word: Tennessee Sucks!
My family’s been there since about the 20s, and most of them are thinking of leaving. I left long ago.
Watch for the bailout request during this lame duck session because the new House damned well better tell CA to go pound sand. Let the Californians enjoy their choices.
Agreed. 45% of the state is not insane.
Hold onto your wallets! Brown is sure to try to repeal Prop 13 and raise lots of other taxes to pay for this left agenda.
Well, I hope all those who thought they were being smart by being “pragmatic” by supporting Fiorina and Whitman in the primaries are happy. If Devore had run and lost, at least conservatives would have had a chance to organize for the future around the campaign. But no, we had to be Rovian wizards...
The good thing is that when CA finally goes over the cliff, it will be almost impossible to blame the Rs. Of course, there is also always the Jerry Brown entertainment factor. He really is a box of chocolates.
“America is chained to a corpse...”
Great line you wrote, there.
The only solution is to literally “cut the chains”, and “let California go free”.
Quebec wanted it in Canada — but Canada resisted.
If California wants that — don’t resist. Let ‘em go.
Actually, within 50 years, this is going to occur by default, anyway.
Can you say the words, “emerging Atzlan”?
I knew you could.
soon to be annexed by Mexico= Mexifornia. Just don’t loose site of the San Andreas Fault... we may be able to salvage something after the big one hits...
I live in California, and this is why I do not vote in state elections here. It’s a lost cause. The majority here are apparently ok with the direction this state has been heading, and voted to keep it heading in this direction. The unions control this state with an endless flow of cash going to whatever they want it to go to.
Unfortunately, the face of the republican party in California is Arnold Swartzenegger (sp?), who has been a miserable failiure. The “republicans” had their shot there and most people don’t understand Arnold is a socialist RINO. McClintock should have won that Gray Davis recall relection as he won all the debates and was the only competant candidate. We will suffer from that election in California for at least another 5 years.
