Look at the graph that shows the difference between Dem and GOP, today is the absolute peak, surging upward to +9.4% from the old record of +8.7 just yesterday!

So much for the meme the dems were floating a couple of weeks ago that the GOP "peaked too early." Looks to me like we're peaking just exactly at the right time.

Good luck with that, Nancy, Harry, & Barry.

Could actually be peaking too late. Not just because the tide of opinion may not stop rising for a few more days or weeks, but also because of the scale of the early voting.

The liberal guy on Hannity (Bob Schrum?) said last night that this election is like none he has ever seen.

Usually races tighten up at the end, but all across the country the Republicans keep widening the lead.

For all the grief Dick Morris gets here on FR, this is exactly what he said was going to happen.

your point is well taken, but i think i heard early votes were about 40% of the total, so that means more votes are still cast on election day, and that would indicate it’s still better mathematically to peak on election day by at least a little bit.

As far as continuing to grow past election day, I’m not sure I buy that. All the political rallies, ads, constant commentary, etc. must have been pumping people up all this time, and that all goes away pretty quick after today. Plus, these generic ballot figures are completely unprecedented. Normally the generic ballot *underestimates* GOP strength, and this level of favorability has never been measured before. Ever. So it’s hard to imagine it increasing too much more from here.

I’m hoping the numbers are so good tonight that no more than a seat or two get stolen through fraud, and even then the severity of the losses will astound even the most pessimistic Democratic operative. How sweet it would be if Barney “marble mouth” Frank, Babs Boxer, Harry Reid, and maybe a few we’re not even expecting get the “don’t let the door hit you on the way out” treatment.
